Watching Writer/Director Domiziano Cristopharo’s House Of Flesh Mannequins is like experiencing a lengthy nightmare from which you cannot wake – and I mean that in the best possible way.
As the viewer, we are left to wander through a dark and twisted dreamscape full of unforgettable, haunting imagery that could very well fit right in with Dante Alighieri’s masterful vision of hell Inferno.
One just cannot simply explain the plot of Hofm, it is a film that is best gone into knowing very little about, so that you may experience the full effect of wandering in the dark as this startling nightmare unfolds before your very eyes.
However, it should be said that this might not be the horror film for everyone – it is an experience that could be alienating to some due to its extreme nature, and it features explicit sexual acts and,...

The Italian exploitation thriller, The House of Flesh Mannequins, will receive a worldwide DVD release February 21, 2012. This psychological drama by controversial director/writer Domiziano Cristopharo will be sure to be deeply disturbing because of the subject matter being explored.
This film features Sebastian Rhys (Domiziano Arcangeli, “Showtime’s Zalman King’s Chromium Blue”), a loner, whose life is about to change. As an artist and photographer, he habitually explores the seedy side of life and human depravity. When a fellow apartment tenant, Sarah Roeg (Irena A. Hoffman, Moonlight Sonata) takes an interest in his work, where this film goes is a look into a very torturous, surrealistic, and erotic world that also includes snuff films. Up and comer actors Dave Vescio (Lost Soul) and Jerred Berg also star.

I’m not sure what to make of the trailer for Italian director Domiziano Cristopharo third full length feature Bloody Sin.
The trailer for the film which stars Francesco Venditti, Roberta Gemma and Nancy de Lucia among others, starts off in the middle ages, complete with dark chambers and a big dollop of torture and then partway through changes gears completely and turns into a 70s disco inspired picture which doesn’t even look like a horror film (though there isn’t much to suggest that it’s not as the second part of the trailer is mostly title cards).
The film’s official synopsis gives a sort of explanation on the stylistic and tonal change though I’d love to see a trailer that gives us a little more of the 70s portion:
From the director of House Of Flesh Mannequins and The Museum Of Wonders another shocking experience where Beauty,...

The art house/horror/fetish film House Of Flesh Mannequins was shown at the Santa Fe Film Festival on Thursday December 3 and Saturday December 5, and the film received very mixed reviews from the audience. In fact, according to the festival’s director, Karen RedHawk Dallett,, "over 1/3 of the film’s first audience actually walked out.” The film is very different than anything being shown in America: "It’s edgy and dark, almost like the remake of Cape Fear, but much more than that.”
According to the film’s producers, House "presents a compelling case against the use of gratuitous violence, on TV, as well as, the self-righteous, sanctimonious ways that society chooses to confront children’s issues.” The film is “gory, pornographic and outrageous.” To drive the point home, House, which uses international film stars (Dominziano Arcangeli, Irena A. Hoffman, Giovanni Lombardo, Radici, Randal Malone,) as well as underground porn actors and actual fetishists,...

#1: Paramount to finally release Carriers!
Àlex Pastor and David Pastor's Carriers is finally getting a theatrical release by Paramount Vantage on September 4, 2009. The great looking plague flick stars Lou Taylor Pucci, Chris Pine, Piper Perabo and Emily VanCamp. No doubt their decision to hold the film back has something to do with capitalizing on the Chris Pine buzz that will be around from Star Trek. Smart really. [via: Bloody-Disgusting]
#2: Kevin Macdonald takes on Romans and Asimov's "Eternity"
Kevin Macdonald has made a deal with New Regency to develop and direct "The End of Eternity" by Isaac Asimov. The "futuristic tale concerns a ruling class called Eternity whose members can manipulate time and alter history."
The State of Play director is also making "Eagle of the Ninth," a Roman military drama for Focus Features. [via: Variety]
