Mumbai, March 12 (Ians) Actress Monica Chaudhary, who is known for ‘Apharan’ and ‘Dark 7 White’, talked about her Bollywood debut with Ranbir Kapoor and Shraddha Kapoor-starrer film ‘Tu Jhooti Main Makkaar’ and the kind of response she is getting for her role of Kinchi in the film.
Being a huge fan of Ranbir, she also found herself fortunate to get an opportunity to work with him.
She praised Ranbir for making her comfortable on the sets and said: “I’m such a huge fan of his work and all of a sudden he is my co-actor. I didn’t know how to behave or act but honestly, once I was on set, this question didn’t even come to my mind. Because I never felt I’m a newcomer or outsider and they are already stars.”
“Of course, I had that respect that they are my seniors but it was so comfortable.

Tandav
Starring Saif Ali Khan, Dimple Kapadia, Sunil Grover, Tigmanshu Dhulia, Mohd. Zeeshan Ayyub,Gauhar Khan and Kritika Kamra.
Directed by Ali Abbas Zafar
Tandav seems to have bitten more than it can chew. There is so much activity, such frenzied happenings as politicians, policemen, students and power brokers go on a rampage. And yet at the end of the exhausting series I was clueless about the variety of politics that the writers of this scattered series want to preach. The screenplay seems to be a jumble of recent political headlines. Evidently the writer’s heart bleeds for the politicization of Jawaharlal Nehru University politics, here faux-acronymed into Vhu. Their sympathies are with the students, and that’s fine.
And yes, Mohammed Zeeshan Ayyub as a faux-Kanhaiya is brilliant in a cast that overall proves less than capable of shouldering the political chaos of the series..
In Tandav , the manner...

Politics has never really been a favoured subject for Bollywood filmmakers. In a country where mainstream cinema never really got out of the grip of censor woes and protest groups, the Hindi film industry by and large avoided cinema that spoke of politics and politicians.
Bollywood cinema has naturally hesitated looking at Indian politics and political themes while setting up fictional drama.
There have been cases in the past, after all, when themes pertaining to politics faced trouble. Kissaa Kursee Kaa was banned from release during Emergency owing to its satirical depiction of democracy in the country. Aandhi was banned a few months after release because it was felt that the film bore shades of Indira Gandhi and her politics. Parzania, depicting a fictional story against the backdrop of the 2002 Gujarat riots, was banned in that state, and so was Firaaq. Inshallah Kashmir won a National Award, but was denied release,...

Sumeet Vyas hails from the theatre background and has become super busy in the Ott scene lately. This year he had four digital releases -- the series Official Bhootiyagiri, Wakaalat From Home and Dark 7 White, and the web film Unpaused.
While crossovers into Bollywood or the web zone normally happen from the worlds of modelling or television as well as, lately, the social media space, Sumeet feels different sets of actors enter the profession driven by different motivations. There are those who chase the calling for fame and glamour, and then there are people like him, he tells you, who are simply in the game for their love of acting.
"I think we should not look at the background of an actor while watching them on screen, but only the performance. Yes, the ticket to Bollywood has changed. Earlier either it was modelling or theatre actors entering the world of cinema and TV series.
