The Radcliffes are renovating their home that used to be an 1860 schoolhouse. Step one is to find the hidden fireplace. Then there's months of do it yourself work to do. They chose Victorian style since they have a huge collection of cherished knickknacks. Nick's research finds that the building was only a school for 15 years because their weren't enough children to continue operating it. That, and the unusual placement at the fork in a road, encourage Nick to dig further. Did the building have a life before it was a school?

Peter and Liz Saunders found a townhouse in their beloved town of Bath, England. But it's been stylistically abused over the centuries and they are anxious to restore it to Georgian style. That requires a number of experts including a blacksmith to restore the Victorian range. Nick finds a couple local celebrities associated with the house including one of Bath's city architects and a renowned painter. But what can Nick make of a pair of beat up old shoes concealed in a wall.

Mark Peace and Tracy Daly are renovating an old, old farm house. Fortunatly, Mark is a structural engineer because modifications by previous owners have left it in on the verge of collapse. Another winter season and an ancient exterior wall is ready to fall off and will have to be replaced. Tracy found a door warded against evil, serious evil, so she's hoping the house is medieval but Nick can only date it back to 1766. But what's this recovered in the excavations; a 1698 penny?
