Marvel Comics released the first issue of Blood Hunt last Wednesday, with the event's opening chapter revealing how the vampire invasion of Earth begins.
With the world's Darkforce users being turned into portals which have blocked out the sun across the globe, vampires emerge from the shadows, feeding on humans and turning countless others.
The Avengers also found themselves outmatched and outgunned, with Black Panther and Thor both killed in a battle with a group of ultra-vampires known as the Bloodcoven.
In the issue's closing moments, Doctor Strange discovers a spell which will kill every vampire on Earth. It means eliminating some of his friends, but it's a sacrifice he's willing to make if it saves the planet.
Blade shows up and recaps what's happened, including the fact a vampire cult known as "The Structure" has enacted a plan which will allow them to finally make the world their own.

7. The Marauders Sending Their Regards
In Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban, Harry first gets his hands on the Marauder’s Map — an artifact that genuinely bothers Severus Snape when he gets a hold of it. Snape’s attempt to unlock the Map didn’t work out quite well: just like in his school days, the Marauders just humiliated him through snarky and witty messages.
6. Hermione Clowning on Her Stalker
In Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire, Hermione Granger had one of her most unhinged moments. After having been bullied by a reporter Rita Skeeter for the entire school year, Hermione finally learned her stalker’s secret and locked her in a jar in her Animagi form, effectively holding the reporter hostage and torturing her.

Grammy lineups are lucky if they include one bona fide classic. But it is the rarest of occasions when we get three nominated together. That was the case in 1970, where The Beatles’ “Abbey Road,” The 5th Dimension’s “The Age of Aquarius” and Crosby, Stills and Nash’s self-titled record were all up for Album of the Year. All three had strong narratives that could have led to possible wins … but they didn’t. Perhaps infamously, the Grammy went to jazz rock band Blood, Sweat and Tears for their successful self-titled album. While nowadays that could be dismissed as a bad win, the reality is that there were a lot of reasons why the band won and why their competitors didn’t. So let’s look more deeply into the race.

Stefan Ruf says that Coyote Woman, his follow-up to Motorpsycho Maniacs aka Sex Terrorists on Wheels, was inspired by both Ralph Nelson’s Soldier Blue and Bruno Mattei’s Scalps. That combination of critically acclaimed sadism and grindhouse sleaze certainly caught my attention and all but demanded I give it a review.
Deep Water and his warriors attack a family of settlers, scalping the parents and abducting the two daughters Iris who escapes on the way back to their village, and Cynthia (Jaqueline McNulty; The Great Turkey Miracle) who is adopted into the tribe.

House of the Dragon, the Game of Thrones prequel series that debuted on HBO and Max in 2022 and is returning soon, focuses on House Targaryen, generations before the events of the original Game of Thrones series.
They are, of course, the ancestors of Daenerys Targaryen (Emilia Clarke), one of the main characters on Game of Thrones, whose series-long plot was about wanting to recapture her family's throne.
While House of the Dragon focuses on that particular family, we did get occasional glimpses of other familiar houses in the first season of that show, including the Baratheons. Also, there are fleeting mentions of Houses such as Arryn and Stark.
While the members of House Stark were among the most important characters throughout Game of Thrones, none of the Starks were major characters In the first season of House of the Dragon.
However, it appears that it is about to change.

Alien artist Hr Giger was involved in a number of film projects in the 1980s and 90s. We talk to filmmaker William Malone about some amazing films that never happened.
Given just how genre-defining 1979’s Alien was, it’s perhaps surprising that Hr Giger, the Swiss artist who designed the title monster, wasn’t involved in more films. His creations appeared in the likes of Poltergeist II: The Other Side (1986), Species (1995), plus a little-seen German indie comedy horror called Killer Condoms (1996), but none were as high-profile or influential as Alien.
In the wake of that genre-defining space horror, other artists and designers tinkered with Giger’s unforgettable xenomorph in its sequels. Giger wasn’t involved in the making of Aliens, Alien Resurrection or subsequent prequels or spin-offs, and his work for Alien 3 was barely used. Instead, Giger had the curious habit of coming up with concepts and artwork for...

The move sees him turn his back on his former comrades and unit, led by the charismatic Sami Belkaïm.
When two officers from his old squad are killed in less than 24 hours and a third goes missing in mysterious circumstances, Cerda embarks on his own investigation. His inquiries will reveal an intense police rivalry and take him on a terrible downward spiral.

Soulsborne games are notorious for being difficult; however, the amount of love and dedication that goes into making them from Hidetaka Miyazaki and his team at FromSoftware is completely unparalleled in the gaming industry. Masterpieces like Dark Souls, Sekiro: Shadows Die Twice, and Bloodborne have catapulted the studio into the mainstream, and for good reason.
With breathtaking worlds, stories, and weaponry, the inspirations behind such works require an equal amount of appreciation. Particularly in the case of Bloodborne and, surprisingly, Sekiro: Shadows Die Twice, a world-renowned Seinen anime paved the way to creating these two jaw dropping experiences.
Blood and Blades: The Inspiration Taken from Blade of the Immortal
A lot of Bloodborne‘s trick weapons are inspired by this anime.

The phrase, “a change of heart,” would forever alter the course of Freddy Macdonald’s life.
Last month, the 23-year-old wunderkind’s feature directorial debut, Sew Torn, premiered at South by Southwest to glowing reviews, capping an extraordinary five-plus years for the young filmmaker. As a high school senior, Macdonald — whose American family had relocated to Switzerland a handful of years earlier — started applying to film schools, and he decided to take a lofty crack at the American Film Institute’s (AFI) graduate program. As part of the application process, Macdonald had to make a short film that told a story involving the aforementioned idiom, “a change of heart,” and so he started trading ideas with his father, Fred Macdonald.
The father-son duo soon found themselves in the oeuvre of the Coen brothers, specifically No Country for Old Men. The inciting incident of the Coens’ best picturing-winning neo-Western involves Josh Brolin...

The race is on. After a punishing first season that saw teams trek across the Alaskan wilderness, USA Network is heading to New Zealand for season 2 of the competition reality series Race to Survive.
Race to Survive: New Zealand will follow teams of contestants as they navigate harsh terrain in a quest to take home a $500,000 prize. Winning won’t be easy. Cast members will have to endure challenging conditions and tough competition as they speed toward the finish line.
“This is a pass or fail evolution,” one contestant says in the trailer for the new season (via YouTube). “You either make it or you don’t. Just keep putting one foot in front of the other.”

Dragon’s Dogma’s creative breakthrough—as a series, since much of what the sequel does was introduced in the 2012 original—is that it conceives of the RPG adventure not as a string of combat encounters or dialogue decisions, but as often arduous traveling through dangerous, unpredictable lands—with all the planning, consequences, and improvisation that entails. This angle is so daring and unusual that Dragon’s Dogma 2, which once again sees you set out as the chosen Arisen on a quest to slay the mighty Dragon (or at least it seems that simple at first), somehow feels unlike anything else that’s been released since the first game.
The loop of the game is in many ways similar to that of other action RPGs. Quests send you out into the wilderness to complete tasks and fight monsters before having you return to town to buy equipment and learn skills. This is a familiar rhythm,...

Netflix’s hit series The Witcher is seeing a significant reshuffle in its cast lineup, promising a fresh outlook for its upcoming fourth season.
Following the departure of Henry Cavill, who portrayed the iconic character Geralt of Rivia, uncertainties loomed over the future of the show. However, recent casting announcements have sparked renewed enthusiasm among fans.
Stepping into the shoes of Geralt is Liam Hemsworth, a move that has garnered both curiosity and excitement from the fanbase.
Alongside Hemsworth, the returning cast members, including Anya Chalotra, Freya Allan, Joey Batey, and Laurence Fishburne, have kept the anticipation alive with their continued involvement in the series.
A Variety report confirmed the addition of Sharlto Copley, James Purefoy, and Danny Woodburn to the ensemble for Season 4.
The casting choices reflect Netflix’s commitment to boosting the show’s quality after the third season, which saw a slight drop in its critical approval rating.

Thanks to the Esrb, we’re getting closer to the eventual release of Bloober Team’s Silent Hill 2. The Entertainment Software Ratings Board has posted their rating for the upcoming remake, which as you’d expect, gets a Mature rating for “Blood and Gore, Language, Sexual Themes, Violence.”
Spotted by VGChartz, the listing for Silent Hill 2 on the Esrb website gives a summary of the game, as well as detailing what constitutes the game’s M rating. Of note is the description of some of the environments, which “depict large bloodstains and/or intestines/organs on walls, floors, and surrounding bodies.” Silent Hill 2‘s cutscenes also pile on the disturbing stuff, including characters being impaled, a character suffocated to death with a pillow, and enemies with body parts sewn together.

Bloodborne is no doubt a game that every soulslike fan should play at least once in their lifetime. It’s so good that many people have been asking for a more refined version of this game and its sequel for nine years now. But everyone also knows that Bloodborne is not a game for a person who does not like a challenge. It is often considered to be one of the hardest games in FromSoftware’s soulslike series.
While fans kept on asking FromSoftware to start working on a sequel, developers by the names of Round 8 Studio and Neowiz decided to give them something else. A very beautiful-looking soulslike game called Lies of P. This game is Bloodborne to the tee. It has a Victorian setting, and features a dark, horror-like environment. But the developers made sure it’s different in one crucial way: it’s not as hard as Bloodborne.

One thing that fans learned after watching Game of Thrones was that any character can die at any point in the series regardless of how significant they are. It seems like House of the Dragon is also all set to go on a similar path as its predecessor series and we might be witnessing a lot of unexpected deaths in the second season of the series.

When Katie Crutchfield finished making Tigers Blood, her sixth album as Waxahatchee, she was struck by a strange, new sensation: It was done, and it was good.
“In the past, I’ve anxiously listened to my records before they come out a lot, searching for mistakes — and then of course finding them because I’m searching for them,” she says with a laugh. This time, she adds, “Every word is in the correct place. Every melody is just right. There’s no question marks. There’s no need to obsess over every little detail.

It’s go time. The plan to intercept the alien invaders is well underway in Episode 8 of 3 Body Problem, the sci-fi thriller series from Game of Thrones creators David Benioff and D.B. Weiss and True Blood writer Alexander Woo. But will the ambitious plan work?
The Season 1 finale sees Project Staircase put into action, as a series of 300 atomic bombs scattered through space are deployed to propel a probe toward the thousand San-Ti ships en route to Earth. There’s one passenger on board, or, shall we say, a piece of one passenger: the frozen brain of a physics teacher, Will (Alex Sharp).
While Jin (Jess Hong) agonizes over the fate of the project — and, more importantly, of her good friend Will — Saul (Jovan Adepo) faces a new challenge when he’s recruited to join a mysterious project of his own.
Let’s recap 3 Body Problem’s season...

Humanity has a plan to fight back. With some A-bombs and a frozen brain, humans will intercept the San-Ti on their way to Earth.
In Episode 7 of 3 Body Problem, the sci-fi thriller series from Game of Thrones creators David Benioff and D.B. Weiss and True Blood writer Alexander Woo, we stare down the biggest hurdle of them all: heartbreak.
Director Jeremy Podeswa helms the emotional penultimate episode that leads to a long-expected death, a surprising demise, and a long-shot effort to save humanity.
“Jeremy Podeswa was the only one of the directors that we’d worked with before — he shot I don’t know how many episodes of Game of Thrones,” says Benioff. “Directors can be bossy and dictatorial, and Jeremy’s got none of that. He’s a true partner in the artistic process, but also he’s quite strong and tough minded.”

It’s no secret that horror too often elicits kneejerk reactions from narrow-minded critics who, for some reason or another, aren’t willing to give its particular brand of storytelling a fair shake. There are countless examples of films that have received lukewarm to scathing critiques from reviewers upon their release only to be embraced as classics years later, sometimes even by the same writers that originally did them dirty. Last House on the Left (1972), The Shining (1980) and, perhaps most famously, The Thing (1982) were all savaged for various reasons during their initial runs but are now not only thought of as staples of their genre but of cinema as a whole.
This was also the case for Mario Bava’s Blood and Black Lace (1964). Barely making a splash with audiences and critics alike when it was released in Italy 60 years ago this month, the picture’s impact would soon be gargantuan.

David Carson's 1994 film "Star Trek: Generations" has a farfetched premise, even by Trek's own outlandish standards. It seems there is a mysterious energy ribbon called the Nexus that periodically floats through the galaxy. The Nexus destroys any starships it encounters but also sweeps living beings into its own mysterious pocket dimension. The Nexus' pocket dimension is essentially Heaven, where its victims live out their happiest memories. Time also stands still in the Nexus, allowing its inhabitants to remain there eternally.
The physical existence of Heaven, one might think, would be a heady concept for a humanist franchise like "Star Trek." How would the universe react if Heaven was in a physical location one could visit? One might think there would be a mad dash to get there as soon as possible, rapidly depleting the galaxy's population.
Sadly, "Generations" sidesteps any interesting ideas in favor of a useless "pass the...

In July 2023, the Video Game History Foundation revealed that 87% of classic video games released in the United States are now considered critically endangered. Nearly 9 out of 10 video games ever released in the U.S. are unavailable via modern distribution platforms. How did it come to this?
“It was the Wild West back then,” says Stephen Kick, CEO and co-founder of Nightdive Studios. “[There was] a lack of foresight for saving work… it was lost in a closet or thrown out if a studio was acquired or went bankrupt… it’s just gone.”
Kick co-founded Nightdive Studios in 2012 after trying and failing to download an official copy of one of his favorite games, System Shock 2. Since then, Nightdive has helped rescue many formerly lost games through remasters, re-releases, and remakes.

Waxahatchee is back with “Bored,” the latest single from her forthcoming album, Tigers Blood.
Built around an acoustic guitar-led arrangement, “Bored” shows off the melodic sensibilities of Waxahatchee’s Katie Crutchfield, with subtle verses blossoming into soaring choruses. Lyrically, she flows through scenes and observations, culminating with the wonderfully-resonant, nearly cathartic refrain: “I can get along, my spine’s a rotted two by four/ barely hanging on, my benevolence just hits the floor/ I get bored.”
The second song to arrive from Tigers Blood — following last month’s “Right Back to It,” named Song of the Week — the new single, “Bored,” arrives with a music video depicting Crutchfield performing live at Devil’s Backbone Tavern in Fischer, Texas. Watch the video below.
First announced earlier this year, Tigers Blood is due in full on March 22nd via Anti-. Pre-orders for the album are ongoing.
Up next, Waxahatchee will hit...
