- The main characters both get hit with sticks, another man gets hit over the head with a stick. There is a little blood as a result of this.
- Delilah gets snatched from the side of the road, in a scene later we see she has been beaten, swollen eye, etc

- A major theme of the film is main male character, Samson, abusing petrol fumes. His habit causes Delilah to take it up for a brief period during hardships. The substance abuse isn't condoned whatsoever but intensely depicted enough to be the reason that the film obtained an MA15+ rating in Australia.
