Grace is being questioned at a police station by Detective Sgt. Chris Caysen (with Jackie looking on behind the two-way mirror) as to where she and Anton were at the time Siobhan was shot. Grace alibis Anton, saying they spent the evening together at home watching _In Living Color_, and that he was playing Mortal Kombat as she went to bed.
As Grace leaves the station, Jackie pressures Grace with the threat of going down with Anton.
Decourcy's in-laws, Todd & Prof. Eloise Hastings, fill him in on the latest news from Siobhan's doctors, who are optimistic about both Siobhan and her pregnancy.
Sgt. Caysen finds Decourcy in the hospital to tell him the bad news about Grace alibiing Anton, and that Decourcy can't be a part of the investigation.
Decourcy brings Siobhan peonies. He finally tells her that it was Anton who shot her.
Decourcy barges into the office of his boss, Guy Dan, to demand to be put on Siobhan's case. Guy correctly points out the conflict of interest that would be involved, but then makes the mistake of using a shoeshine reference. Sgt. Caysen, who was already in the office, asks Decourcy to trust him to do his job, but Decourcy expresses his doubt in both of them.
Benny comes in on the end of Jenny practicing for the church choir. Benny asks for money to send a college application by overnight mail, and Jenny gives her some. Benny suggests they tell Jackie to get counseling in light of his confession of childhood trauma, but Jenny says Jackie would never go for the idea.
Cathy approaches Isaac in Roxbury to try to get more drugs to sell, but he says he's tapped out. She grabs him, he pushes her, she goes down and cuts her hand on broken glass.
After choir practice, Jenny asks Maeve Regan if she wants to get a drink, but Maeve spots Father Diarmuid Doyle and postpones with Jenny for another day.
Maeve confronts Father Doyle, but he tells her to cool it.
Choir leader Lisa Paelli asks Jenny to do a solo next Sunday, but Jenny says she has to think about it.
Medical billing person Meg Kinsman tells Cathy that she owes over $400 for her doctor visit to get stitches in her hand. Cathy asks for a break, gets angry when one is not forthcoming, and storms out of the office.
Sgt. Caysen and fellow officer Tony Suferin try to talk to some of the young people hanging around outside the Campbells' building, but there is mutual hostility between the sides. The cops are perfunctory and antagonistic.
Jackie joins Decourcy in a bar where they talk about racism and what would you do to spare a loved one a trauma. Decourcy tells Jackie that Siobhan is pregnant.
Kelvin Campbell tells Anton's other guys, Isaac Turner, Trey Parker, and Jermaine Walker, that they need to lie low because of the heat on Anton, but Isaac doesn't feel as much loyalty to Anton as Anton's brother does. Junior Senegal and two other guys from the Copeland Crew burst into the room. They shoot Jermaine dead, and wound Trey, who escapes with Isaac. The Copeland Crew take money off the table and give chase. When everyone else is gone, Kelvin emerges unscathed but shaken from behind the apartment door.
Jackie comes to Prof. Hastings' office to try to get some insight into her friend Grace Campbell's skeletons in the closet. Prof. Hastings advises him that Grace doesn't have a checkered past, but to ask himself where a public servant like Grace got Anton's bail money from.
Cathy visits another one of the armored car robbers, recovering addict Sheik Sheehan, and his wife Tara to try to get a different entree into the drug world. Tara says no. Cathy leaves in anger. Sheik chases after her with the gift of a pot pie as a pretext, and offers to introduce her to his old dealer.
Benny goes out to the movies. Jackie expresses concerns to Jenny about Benny going off to NYU to college.
Kelvin shakes an undercover cop tailing him and delivers a sandwich to Anton, who's hiding out in the basement of their apartment building.
Sheik introduces Cathy to Mick Diaz, who fronts her some drugs based on her husband's reputation. Cathy tells Sheik to leave to get him away from temptation.
Anton wants to know why Kelvin let Junior and the Copeland Crew get away scot-free. Kelvin says there was nothing he could have done. Anton wants to know why Kelvin isn't out looking to retaliate. Kelvin says Anton needs to leave town because Boston's too hot for him. Anton says he'll leave town, but only after he's recovered the money that the Copeland Crew took. Kelvin objects, but Anton points out that once he's gone, there won't be anything to stop Junior from coming after Kelvin and their mother.
Cathy comes home. While she's hiding the drugs in a tampon box, daughter Kick Ryan comes in for permission to eat some pot pie, and startles her. Cathy continues to dodge telling Kick that her father's dead.
Jenny tells Maeve over pints of Guinness that she wants to track down her abusive father. Maeve gives her tough love about singing the choir solo.
Decourcy visits Jackie's office. Jackie brings Decourcy around to the idea that Grace must have stolen from the Braxton Summit Tenants' Association to raise Anton's bail money, and that they need a subpoena for the association's financial records. Bobby the ballistics technician comes in and informs them that the bullet that shot Siobhan wasn't from the same gun that killed little Raina Allen Valentine. Jackie points out to Decourcy that they don't have to tell Grace the truth about the ballistics.
Just after Jenny and Maeve have split up outside the bar, Jenny hears Maeve yelling, and comes upon a guy with an Irish accent manhandling Maeve. Jenny grabs a nearby brick and clocks him on the head with it. He runs off. Maeve claims it was an ex-boyfriend, but doesn't want Jenny involving Jackie or the police.
Jackie serves a subpoena on Grace at the Braxton Summit Tenants' Association, but she says she's only able to give him last quarter's financial records. He says he'll subpoena the bank, but he'll make her legal problems go away if she tells him where Anton is. She says she doesn't know. He lies and tells her that the same gun that killed Raina Allen Valentine also shot Siobhan. She says Anton is innocent and won't retract the alibi she gave for him.
Jenny asks for advice from Father Doyle as to how to help Maeve. Father Doyle tells her as a friend, not as a priest, to stay away from Maeve. Cryptically, he says Maeve is not good for Jenny.
As Decourcy is taking Siobhan out of the hospital to the car to go home, she cautions him that they have everything to lose and nothing to gain by vengeance on Anton. She points out that when Decourcy's out hunting Anton, that also exposes him to danger from Anton.
Jenny confronts Maeve outside Maeve's house, and gets her to confess that she's in the IRA. Maeve says she deliberately botched an IRA killing and fled to the U.S., but they're still mad at her. She says she needs money to disappear.
Anton and Kelvin raid the Copeland Crew. Anton shoots them all and takes their money, but Junior manages to wound Kelvin. Anton calls Grace and leaves before she shows up.
Grace comes and collects the bleeding Kelvin. In the car, Kelvin confirms that Anton shot Siobhan. He adds that Anton may have killed Raina too.
