- One character buys another a box of condoms as a gag gift.
- Some sexual innuendos and references, including those to BDSM and masturbation.
- One character in particular acts quite promiscuously, making sexual remarks towards other men and also women, but this is always in good humour.
- Some male characters get shirtless, and sometimes characters get completely nude, but their crotches are always covered by something.
- Words like sex, penis, cock, dick, balls, boobs etc are said on occasion.
- One character has disproportionately large breasts and they make a bouncing noise and motion when she walks.
- A character often lusts after her older brother and asks him to marry her (meant for comedic affect).
- A character is attracted to another character and at one point he kisses him, believing him to be female.
- Characters find porn magazines and books, but no pictures are seen.
Violence & Gore

- In a flashback, a character recalls a time where they attempted to strangle another to death. The scene is not used for comedic effect.
- Some blood put mostly played for laughs.
- A character's heart falls out of his chest and splats on the table.
Profanity

- Sometimes usage of words ranging from fuck, shit and wanker, to bastard, asshole and bitch. Milder terms such as damn, hell, ass etc are used more commonly. Though this language is used for comic effect and the f word is usually part-censored.
- Characters insult each other with mild to moderately offensive names.
- In the sub, there are incorrect translations using 'fag'.
- Characters sometimes swear in their native languages, words like "scheiße" (meaning 'shit' in German) and "cabrón" (meaning 'bastard' in Spanish) are used along with some others.
Alcohol, Drugs & Smoking

- Some drinking.
- Characters get drunk.
Frightening & Intense Scenes

- The entire premise of the show is to portray historical events and stereotypes of countries, so it's really not for those people easily offended by racial stereotyping.
- In assumed reference to the Holocaust, a character says, 'Are you wanting me gas you?' and 'What is it? Another Jew?'.
- Some characters are quite frightening during some scenes of the show, though this is for comedic effect.
Spoilers
Frightening & Intense Scenes
- Some scenes in Hetalia can be quite sad. For example, the whole 'America's Storage Room Cleaning' Arc, and also when a character leaves his partner to go to war. This scene is saddened by the fact that he promises to return but never does.
