A full Free Movie of the Day is posted on the JoBlo Movies YouTube channel every day of the week – but on Fridays things get a little freakier and a little more fun. Get your weekend started the right way by indulging in Friday Fright Nights! Every Friday, we’ll be taking a look at another genre movie you can watch in its entirety, free of charge, either on the YouTube channel linked above or in the video embed here.
Last week’s Friday Fright Nights feature was the slasher Scare Zone, which was set in and around a haunted house attraction. Hello everyone! The summer season is pretty much upon us now, but don’t expect the horror or sci-fi genre offerings to slow down at all during this time of the year because June’s slate of VOD and Digital releases is jam-packed throughout the entire month. So, if you’re looking for a good excuse (or many excuses) to stay inside and beat the heat, this rundown has got you covered.
Hulu is debuting the latest seasons of both The Orville and Only Murders in the Building this month, and Shudder is keeping busy with several exclusive films heading to their platforms, too, including Phil Tippett’s Mad God, which I highly recommend because it blew me away when I saw it last year, and Mickey Keating’s Offseason is pretty darned good, too. Marcus Dunstan’s Unhuman is being released on June 3rd (same day as Rob Savage...

Halloween is one of my favorite times of the year. The opportunity to dress up like anyone I want and steal candy from children is a wonderful way to bully young ones without getting caught. One of the other great things about Halloween are the haunted houses. Living in Los Angeles, some of the studio and special effects gurus go all out with their own front yard haunted attractions. There is one in Burbank every year that's really, really cool. Another place I go to every year is Universal Studios Hollywood and their Halloween Horror Nights. A huge attraction filled with various haunted houses and themed rides. You can even explore the studio backlot if you're brave enough. Last year saw the debut of Saw, and this year looks to be even more terrifying with this exclusive news on a brand new attraction for 2010.Here is the press release we...

Scare Zone is a film that was shot in Orlando, Florida and has gone on to wins some awards as being the Best Picture of Florida (Cenflo). Probably shot at Disneyland, Scare Zone is almost exclusively shot within a Haunted House styled venue. The acting is sometimes overacted with many of the characters unusually giddy and some of the characters are given only shallow attention. Yet, the film is often fun and a guilty pleasure, as the writing does not require in-depth analysis only the suspension of belief for a brief ninety minutes.
The film is a follow the numbers serial killer story, with the addition of a horror fun house an added bonus. Characters get introduced to the horror house right away and the slaughter comes not much later. The non-essential characters are fitted into the usual geek, slut, hero, and more than slightly bent goth girl cardboard cut-outs,...
