Denis Leary’s “Sex & Drugs & Rock & Roll” co-star Elaine Hendrix has joined the cast of his USA pilot “Erase.”
Co-created by Leary and “Homeland” vet Alex Cary, the dark comedy follows Donal O’Neal (Leary), a dirty ex-cop who decides to do the right thing and bring down his complicit superior officers.
Hendrix will star in the pilot as Bella Tanne, a fling from Donal’s past. She is described as “daring, fun, flirtatious and big hearted. Bring her a problem and she’ll find a solution.”

Maxine Peake is magnificent in Adrian Shergold’s unflinching drama about a standup on the 70s northern club circuit
There are several moments in this astringently uncomfortable tragicomedy – which boasts a blistering central performance by Maxine Peake – that will leave audiences squirming and divided. Funny Cow follows the changing fortunes of a standup comic finding her feet in the northern working men’s clubs of the 70s. It has been described by writer and co-star Tony Pitts as “an unblinking obituary” and “unsentimental commentary” on the culture in which he grew up. Some will be shocked by Peake’s “Funny Cow” (we know her only by her stage name), winning round hostile audiences with un-pc gags that were once the backbone of the British club circuit. Others will simply nod in resigned recognition at this hard-knocks world in which “it’s not about being funny, it’s about surviving”.

Mum-to-be Anne-Marie Duff paid special tribute to her actor husband James McAvoy as she accepted an acting prize at the Evening Standard British Film Awards on Monday.
The actress received the Best Actress honour for her turn as John Lennon's mother in Nowhere Boy and she used her acceptance speech to thank McAvoy, who was in the audience.
She cooed, "I'd really like to be Mrs. McAvoy for a minute and say thank you for seriously having to live with a flame-haired broken-hearted banjo player for quite some time."
It's going to be an exciting year for the happy couple - the McAvoys are expecting their first child together.
Also among the winners at the London Film Museum event, Fish Tank claimed the night's Best Film prize and Lord of The Rings star Andy Serkis was named Best Actor for his portrayal of disabled punk icon Ian Dury in Sex & Drugs & Rock & Roll.
Serkis dedicated the award to the late Blockheads rocker: "Ian, wherever you are, this is for you."
Monty Python star Terry Gilliam was also on hand to present Sacha Baron Cohen with the Peter Sellers Award for Bruno, while veteran director Nicolas Roeg won a special award for his contribution to film.

London -- Naomie Harris, Ray Winstone, Olivia Williams, Toby Jones, Mackenzie Crook and Noel Clarke are ready for some "Sex & Drugs & Rock & Roll."
The sextet have joined the cast of Mat Whitecross' Ian Dury biopic, which stars Andy Serkis as the singer-songwriter.
Crippled by polio at age 10 and told he would amount to nothing, Dury went on to become one of the founders of the British punk movement in the 1970s, producing a string of hits including "Sex & Drugs & Rock & Roll."
Harris has signed to play Dury's girlfriend, while Winstone will play the singer's father.
Paul Viragh penned the script, which has attracted backing from Prescience, Aegis, the U.K. Film Council and Lip Sync. Damian Jones is producing.
Worldwide sales are being handled by Odyssey Entertainment, and Entertainment Film Distributors have pre-bought U.K. rights to the film, which began shooting here this week.
