Zhang Ada's (played by Chen Guohua) wife Jinfeng (played by Hong Huifang) spoke of what she heard from the neighbours of the Japanese giving $25 to all the residents, and in the process spoke of what one of her other neighbours living in the same house later correctly called it as 'Greater East Asia Co-Prosperity Sphere'.
It was a concept which started in imperial Japan, and though it was later propagated to Asian populations on the continent especially in places they occupied from 1931 to 1945 in the name of freeing themselves from Western powers and be self-sufficient and also be led by the Japanese, where it is to be in practice, it was used to strengthen Japan's position in Asia.
