- When a son, Daniel Ortiz witnesses his father's brutal murder, he wrestles within himself if he should ignore his values and teachings or become a coldblooded murderer seeking revenge. One step behind him, on the case is Marcus Tillman, a detective with questionable morals and connections that run deep in the dark side of the city.—Dominic Goodie
- Two local thugs, J-Dog and Kahlil carry out an armed robbery of a family-owned business. Exchanging unnecessary words, after having already received the money from the owner, tragedy befalls a son. Searching for any witnesses in the store and the videotape, J-Dog and Kahlil, without any emotion to what they have just done, leave Fernando Ortez dying in his blood, as his son hides, too afraid to do anything to help his father.
Daniel Ortez witnesses the senseless slaying of his father in this routine robbery, that is anything but routine. Upon an investigation, Daniel refuses to accept that reality. Forced to enter an empty home where he and his father once shared in father-son bonding, silence and emptiness leave room for Daniel to decide if he should inform detectives of what he knows or leave no witnesses.
Obsessed with locating the perpetrators who carried out the robbery-homicide, Detective Tilman attempts to reassure Daniel that he will find the thugs and bring them to justice. As detectives begin following clues, the irony leads back to Daniel, who quickly learns how to fight fire with fire. Working the streets and challenging himself in the absence of his father, a young and eager Daniel begins meeting people that he would have never met. Hard-pressed for answers and committed to his newfound cause, Daniel's tunnel vision nearly turns him into a merciless compulsive murder like his father's killers. Beginning to not feel anything, cautious, yet inexperienced, Daniel slips up. Left without any other options but to trust in a detective, Daniel is forever changed.
