The music is solid, I dig the look of hair in the show, I like the new Stu. The voice work and design on the babies are fine.
There are some things off about the tone. Kicking things off with one super-sized episode with four episodes worth of content feels like a bad intro to the characters. You're better off starting with Episode 2 to get the vibe of the series.
After the old season 3 the writers leaned too heavily on having the babies mispronounce items that are not amusing to hear mispronounced - and that continues here. They also leaned too hard on the babies using their imaginations vs misinterpreting every day/modern life. These problems are persistent in the new series premiere. Luckily future episodes ditch the imagination angle mostly.
It's a real fine line with the baby talk. It can be super clever or rock dumb. A lot of Phil, Lil, and Tommy language bobbles between over-using the broken words and completely forgetting to break words. It's all over the place.
The framing feels off too. Because it's CG and widescreen you rarely see a single character get a solo closeup. Multiple characters are almost always on screen. Some character models look bad close up too (Tommy). Maybe that's why we rarely get Tommy closeups. Never focusing on one character makes many scenes devoid of emotion and misses a lot of humor without focus on any single character.
New grandpa's interests are fine but he's sounds too young when he's experiencing aches and pains. Melanie Chartoff isn't back playing Dee and she totally should be, she's still active.
