Amazon’s Prime Video platform will broadcast the Australian Swimming Championships, in Adelaide next month, as part of a two-year deal with Swimming Australia. The company will use a roster of celebrity commentators to give a high profile to its continuing foray into the sports sector.
The deal with Swimming Australia is the first partnership Amazon has had in Australia for sports, other than sports documentaries.
The streaming giant has a patchwork of sportscasting in other territories – in India, for example it currently has a mixture women’s basketball and some cricket, having previously carried major tennis tournaments and English soccer. It finds itself in competition with incumbent free-tv channels, pay-tv operators for which live sports is a lifeblood, and a growing number of specialist sports streamers.
“Following the successful 2021 Australian Swimming broadcast, we’re excited to again partner with Swimming Australia to bring the 2022 Swimming Championships to sports fans...

Things move fast in this real estate market. Mere days after the series debut, Amazon has renewed “Luxe Listings Sydney” for Season 2.
G’day, indeed.
Production in Sydney is already underway. Sounds like we’ll get some closure on that Season 1 finale cliffhanger, which star Gavin Rubinstein told TheWrap was a “super real” moment.
“This is a common theme in my life, because I like to move the needle and I like to push the envelope,” Rubsinstein said. Read more from our interview here.
“Luxe Listings Sydney” follows the intense professional operations and extraordinary personal lives of three elite real estate agents — Rubinstein, D’Leanne Lewis and Simon Cohen — showcasing some of the most breathtaking homes in the exclusive Sydney, Australia property market, complete with stunning harbor views, iconic beachfront backdrops and unrivaled grandeur.
That’s the show’s logline and the Aussie spellings — who are we to “correct” those?

(Spoiler alert: This story contains minor spoilers from the Season 1 finale of Amazon Prime Video’s “Luxe Listings Sydney.” If you do not want to know how the season ends, stop reading now.)
Gavin Rubinstein, the breakout star of Amazon Prime Video’s “Luxe Listings Sydney,” may be small in stature — but definitely not in status. Also “very, very large” (as he put it) is the Australian real estate agent’s “risk appetite,” which is on display for the duration of Season 1.
Rubinstein lives by the mantra “It takes money to make money” more than most. While in Sydney the owner of a property pays for the marketing of their home, Rubinstein told TheWrap he’s “invested millions of dollars over the course of my career into marketing myself.”
Dude only turns 30 midway through Season 1 — and that career is a mere seven years old.
But Rubinstein, through clever (and expensive) marketing,...
