A short film about an introverted inventor and his greedy landlord, Gustav Braustache and the Autodebilitator is a delightfully well-made movie. The details and atmosphere (enhanced by the music) in each scene, and the mystery of the nature of autodebilitator compelled my attention. This movie includes possibly the most adorably dopey and "efficient" domestic robot since R2D2, and animated salamanders as vermin that accidentally send the hero into a space-time dislocation of his own creation.
I picked this up on the "locals" section of the best video store in San Diego, but I'm still trying to figure out the local connection, as it was apparently filmed in Seattle.
