On Tuesday, 7 June 2022, Channel 4 Television announced that they have commissioned STV Studios to produce a second series of the prison drama. Series two will filmed in the iconic Kelvin Hall in Glasgow and is expected to air in early 2023.

Long Marsh is not a real prison - the name is derived to be similar to Long Lartin in Worcestershire. The series was however filmed in a real prison, Petershead in Scotland plus studio film sets.
The seemingly high proportion of female prison officers (in a male prison) is actually broadly accurate with UK prisons staff ratios being slightly biased with more females.
