This movie is the first ever actually filmed in the Prince castle of Monaco. The Grimaldi (reigning family of Monaco) helped the production by giving access to the "Palais princier" (castled palace). The actor interpreting Prince Charles III of Monaco was pictured standing right beside the official marble statue of the Prince's bust, and at the bottom of the Prince's official portrait (frame is 11.5 feet high approx.). The Prince Guards stood by during the whole filming period to make sure free access was given to the staff and no item was damaged during scenes shooting.
The "Societe des Bains de Mer et du Cercle des Etrangers" (established in 1863 by Prince Charles III himself) gave support to the production by greeting the staff in the Casino, Opera and other filming locations they eventually own. This society is the property of the State of Monaco and is the owner of : 5 casinos, 33 restaurants and bars, 4 luxury hotels and "palaces", 4 major spas and baths, several theaters (including the Monte-Carlo Opera), discotheques and approximately 60 conference and meeting rooms.
Monaco's National day is on November 19th, and to mark this occasion a public showing of the film was held, hosted by the Grimaldi family (reigning Prince's family).
Monte-Carlo was named after Prince Charles III of Monaco.
