Nicely animated, but tragic
adhughes-5390416 September 2023
When it was first released, it was very nicely animated and very well written. I enjoyed the series, but then an annoucement of a special episode was to be released, and Daniel confirmed the reason why Gustav acts like a complete monster, and it was because Gustav was one time a friendly and kind person and he was LGBT and dated a kind man named Abraham, but then his dad, Marcus caught his son dating a man, he was not happy and made him go to conversion therapy, where he was trapped in for months, and on top of that, Evil Emma and Ferdinand also kidnapped and tortured him, which is how he was turned into a troublemaker, and this is so incredibly sad. It is a shame it wasn't released due to the problems Daniel had back then, but that doesn't change the fact how tragic Gustav's backstory was. I really want him to be good again and be reunited with Abraham.

Also, I feel bad for saying this, but I did not like that punishment day video out of him, because of the extreme abuse inflicted on him. I'm so sorry.

An underrated animated series that unfortunately represents today's reality
derekmarwan9 December 2022
Warning: Spoilers
It is a good series, undervalued with five episodes released but it represents the terrible reality that today they are very serious. The series touches on very strong themes such as homophobia, which is the only mainstay of the series, it presents a 25-year-old who has mental problems despite the fact that he was "cured" by some Orthodox Christians, especially the so-called "parents". Emma and Ferdinand.

I got the impression that some homosexual people are transferred to conversion therapy and then treated with so-called 'miraculous' drugs to eradicate those preferences and return to the natural path, but it is not so. Health is in danger to such a degree that they become bad and aggressive people in the case of Gustav that he was the only one who became a adult troublemaker thanks to his father Marcus and sick political fanaticism towards Vladimir Putin.

That's not all, machismo is also focused, that Marcus treats his wife Irina as a servant and an object. I watched the third episode of the series which also touched on issues like discrimination, homophobia and also machismo. Marcus acted with a macho behavior towards Irina until he dared to defend his own son Gustav from his own son while he was in jail with Eminem for beating Daniel, Ian and later Violy.

I must say that it is a good series but with certain strong themes that today are very sensitive because in real situations like these are happening.

A successful but underrated series
Lucarious10 October 2022
After its premiere, it had a worldwide success in the United States and various English-speaking countries, it was also one of the underrated because only five episodes were released during October and November 2021.

Despite the delays of already scheduled episodes, it also cancellations of some projects as well as the incident that we already know about the creator's husband in relation to Tomás Moya in his personal controversy and Francisco Universe, the writer of the series was also a victim of the predator and damaged his integrity as well as his mental health. The series was canceled despite certain controversies suffered from that time.

After its cancellation, it became a gem than its predecessor 'Violy Gets Grounded' because it considered it an original story being the first series to have a story of its own.

An animated series with strong themes
liamstonekennedy9 December 2022
Warning: Spoilers
Homophobia, machismo and political fanaticism are the main roles in the series that speak, it was also based on a true event that occurred in Wisconsin years ago and I bring you a reason why?

A few years ago they brought to light the origin of that series, it is about a boy confessing that he was homosexual in front of his parents, but unfortunately his parents rejected him to such a degree that they led to conversion therapy in Wisconsin. After he was "cured"; The young man became a bad and aggressive person, one day he murdered a child who was the son of his neighbor and it was very easy for him to blame his parents for what happened. The "straight" boy is being held in jail serving a 20-year prison sentence and his parents disowned him and even let his son be interested. It is as if the son of his dreams forgot without realizing that the parents of the imprisoned boy were the real cause because they bordered on everything by turning him into a murderous criminal because of the aggressiveness that he himself was suffering.

I only hope this series serves as an example for those parents to come to their senses by rejecting their children even though they are gay and subsequently sending their children to conversion therapy to become 'straight' again.
