Enjoyable Comedy
vnir-0175710 March 2023
I have not watched a movie in a movie theatre in 10+ years. Didn't have any expectation turned out to be a thoroughly enjoyable comedy. It has no pretense on being a Hollywood blockbuster but relies on crisp dialogues and situational comedy. The main character kind of reminds me of Woody Allen in a way but does not do as much nervous talk. There are very few characters in the movie has nice simple plot and relies on clever script. The best part of the movie for me was the funny conversations during the card game. Although the name implies bit of ris·qué comedy there is no nudity and it is all done in good taste.

In this day and age of comedy it's wonderful to see something so clean yet so funny

Absolutely hysterical comedy when you get past what Hollywood is putting out these days as comedy !!!

Thank gosh for indy filmmakers.....

The wonderful part about this movie is the cast and crew was entirely Arizona residence as well as filmed in Arizona, which means you don't have to have millions if $$$$ to make a fantastic movie.

Excellent direction excellent dialogue excellent cinematography excellent sound that's why it's 10 out of 10. It's excellent.

Even if you had to pay for it on Amazon prime, it's worth every penny ...

Help an independent film producer, Director, and actor by watching this film then rating this film.

Wickedly Funny

This movie will trick you at first and you may not get it right away. But hang in there because it is wickedly funny. The stars turn in a deadpan and sometimes over-the-top performance, that works perfectly.

The film itself is performed and cut like a low-budget movie. With "interesting' line readings and quick cuts back and forth between the actors. But, that is the point! It hits the nail on the head as a parody of these type of movies.

Staring and directed by Bill Briles, Aleta Dorodian, and Santiago Craig, the three of them work well together, and stay true to their characters throughout the movie.

I truly enjoyed this film, and believe it has the markings of a cult classic. Do yourself a favor and watch it today!

Refreshing. Funny.

They don't make comedies like this anymore. Good character development, sprinkled with philosophical verbiage. Good writing and acting. No wasted dialogue. Cut very clean. Shot in several interesting locations including somewhere in Europe? Woody Allen-ish in places. Not your typical 3-act story, a character-study of sorts, but still an interesting story. A lot of night shots which looked professional despite the apparent limited budget? Just don't see movies like this in the mainstream "movie factories". This kind of creativity is missing in a lot of movies made these days. Refreshingly funny, creative.

It is a hoot!

Funny story of two offbeat characters. A woman getting divorced. The gardener she hires to spruce up her yard in preparation for a divorce celebration. Both parts were well played. The scenes with the gardener and his poker buddies were hilarious. Lots of small gem moments. Serving the divorce papers. A traffic stop. A slimey lawyer with Star Trek glasses.. Reminiscent of a romantic 1940s comedy. Some beautiful shots of Tucson along the way. I give it two thumbs up because it has a unique authenticity or voice in an era of plastic Hallmark and Marvel junk. The director obviously loves movies and it shows.
