The Cohesion Is Horrible
latonpowers13 October 2021
I'm pretty good with bad movies. But the cohesion of this film is horrible. I get weirdness. This was just poorly done. I thought I was watching different films or mistakenly turned on another film. I'm good with low budget or bad acting, but there has to be organization.

Don't bother

1.5hrs of my life I won't get back. Terrible plot, worse acting, don't waste your time on it. Ignoring the fact that it's a low budget film, the actors look like a theatre group reading off a script with no sense of timing.

The plot was badly hashed together, didn't flow and the lead character had zero acting skill.

The only thing missing between pauses is someone whispering "it's your line".

The minister of the Church was the most believable and natural character right up to the last moment of the film with that cheesey exit line and look at the camera where he lost all credibility.

Basically should never have been released.

Praise music hell.

I liked the movie up until it went all evangelical. I'm a Christian and this movie was offensive to me from that perspective. When they got all "praise music" on our asses, the acting suffered and so did the plot. There was no inspiration. IMHO, it was an affront to the religion.

Go back and rewatch The Exorcist if you want a little holy inspirational horror.

Rich and Compelling...
tmccull5210 July 2022
Warning: Spoilers
"Paranormal" is rich and compelling..compelling... about as rich and compelling as a rectal carbunkle. The dork playing the struggling writer could only be described as a poor man's Steve Railsback, and I mean a very poor man's Steve Railsback. At one point in the movie, this character is over the moon enthused about the "perfect gift" that he'd gotten his wife. He's hysterically giddy about this wonderful, monumental token of his abiding adoration of and for her. What is this unparalleled gift, you may ask?

It's a key chain. Yes, a key chain, the quintessential expression of love and undying affection.

When his wife seems less than overwhelmed by this tremendous gift, our hero just doesn't understand why she doesn't just run upstairs, strip all of her clothes off, and hump his brains out.

As if the imbecile main character isn't bad enough, we also have "Chris", who is supposed to be a hugely popular social media superstar. Chris is snarky, arrogant, snide, and utterly convinced that he's God's gift to everyone and everything. Chris just loves him some Chris, and he's pretty damned sure that everyone else loves him as much as he loves himself.

This movie is poorly written, poorly directed, and atrociously acted. To describe it as a micro-budget indie is too generous on a galactic scale. There isn't a likeable character in the bunch, but the "actors" playing the dim-witted struggling writer and the ultimate a-hole Chris are particularly loathsome. I turned this rancid turd off after 15 minutes.

Wonderfully Weird

If you have had to write anything in your life, you can relate to the frustration of writers block and the lengths one will go to find inspiration. This is the case with the main character of this film, however, we don't all find ourselves in the middle of a paranormal investigation and getting way more than we bargained for. This film has one important lesson to be learned by all: A ghost hunting team is not exactly the cure for writers block and should be the last place you search for inspiration. If you need to be reminded of this important life-lesson, then this film is for you.

Suspense

I love this movie. You can obviously tell when watching it that it's a low budget film but the movie is really fun to watch. The movie is scary it's not too scary but it's good enough to give you a good scare. This movie is more of a thriller movie than a horror movie. There are jump scares in the movie which I do like in horror or thriller movies. I was on the edge of my seat watching this movie. I can watch this movie all time the plot of the movie is great btw this movie is awesome I highly recommend watching it at night with the lights off. That's what I do whenever I watch a scary movie This movie I would say is a christian version of the movie paranormal activity...........

Suspense. The movie does have jumpscares and will keep you on the edge of your seat it is a low budget movie. I enjoy watching low budget movies so i reccomend watching this movie not just because it is obviously a low budget movie but i reccomend watching this movie because its scary. Its not too scary this movie is more of a thriller that a horror movie. There are of course some scary images and paranormal activity does happen. Im glad that there is no foul language and no gore in this movie. I am also happy that this movie is a faith based movie. I can watch this movie over and over again....
