This episode of "Arthur Godfrey and His Friends" provided a musically relaxing half hour

Having rewatched a certain episode of "Arthur Godfrey's Talent Scouts" on Internet Archive, I decided to view his other prime-time program from that era called "Arthur Godfrey and His Friends". Toni hair products were the sponsor this time and on the show I watched, its White Rain shampoo was the only commercial preserved here. Anyway, after that we see the host in front of a city skyline set with his cast sitting behind him. After some remarks he intros one of them: singer Marian Marlowe who performs that Rodgers and Hart classic "Lover". Then Godfrey mentions newsman Walter Cronkite and one of his writers-Andy Rooney-talking about a rescue of certain American troops by many Hollanders during World War II and many of those troops promising to do the same for them as he mentions many of that country caught in a flood with many casualties. He then mentions how one can help. Then it's Julius LaRosa-yes, the guy that would eventually by fired by Godfrey on air several months later-who sings the other side of his single "Anywhere I Wander", "This is Heaven". After that, the McGuire Sisters perform "Picking Sweethearts". Then, Frank Parker sings something I didn't recognize. And then Arthur closes with something slightly humorous while playing the ukulele. Overall, this was quite entertaining if you're a fan of mainly slow, romantic ballads as I sometimes am. Godfrey himself mentions in his monologue how different his shows are like when they did an ice skating show with big production numbers previously. Anyway, I liked this one and I highly recommend it if you're interested in this sort of thing.
