Was taken down from online after one day when it was discovered that the review was almost word for word plagiarized from a Film Comment review written by Cecilia Sayad in 2003.
It was later revealed by Producer Justin Silverman that Newt Wallen was responsible for plagiarizing multiple reviews for 2021's Monster Madness. This became a big headache as Newt Wallen worked on 26 of the 31 videos, all of which now needed to be comb through and in some cases completely redone.
While they have not revealed who plagiarized the review, Producer Justin Silverman has said the script was written by James Rolfe. The implication is James Rolfe plagiarized the review. Rolfe (being the figurehead of Cinemassacre) can not be fired, meaning there was no actual consequences for him after having stolen someone else's work and tried to pass it off as his own. Silverman has said he is ordering a redo of video, presumably excluding Rolfe from being involved with the writing and serving only as the narrator for the piece.
Producer Justin Silverman claims the plagiarism was accidental but offered no reasonable explanation for how one copies someone else review into their script word for word accidentally. He also tried to pass blame on an unnamed New Person working for them, whom many suspect does not actually exist.
