Effective drama plus gonzo
lor_6 November 2021
Warning: Spoilers
As expected (and required), all the XXX scenes run way too long, resulting in a four-hour plus feature for Kayden Kross. Her style is evident, and the dramatics potent, saving the day for a fine showcase of star Gianna Dior's acting talent.

Her story begins in 2009, portraying a college co-ed pondering her future while motoring down the highway with fellow student Jay Romero in his Mercedes convertible, leading to a fatal car crash (for Jay) after they have an altercation in transit.

Jump forward 10 years to Dior as a successful psychotherapist, married unhappily to Mick Blue. With KK's usual pretentious quotes displayed on screen (from Hemingway and Bukowski), the auteur creates a powerful sense of anomie as Dior sleepwalks her way through life, endless repetition and utter coldness.

Her array of patients pour out their troubles, talking of kinky sex which gives the shrink ideas. She escapes into gonzo one-night stands, which after four hours nearly overwhelm the narrative. Fortunately, Kayden manages to resolve the issues of infidelity with an interesting kinky finale, in which Dior duct tapes her mean/vengeful hubby and forces him to watch her hump stud Manuel Ferrara, making for a most unusual if bleak reconciliation.

The supporting players do a fine job, especially the vastly underrated British import Katy Jayne, baring her soul to an unresponsive shrink Gianna. Cameos include superstars of yore Brad Armstrong and Katie Morgan as Gianna's parents.

Oliver Flynn as her bewildered patient hires a beautiful prostitute played by Avery Cristy, which serves to give the fans a respite from more than a tad too much Gianna Dior in action. This scene suffers from a drastic continuity error, as Oliver is endlessly humping her clad only in her nylon stockings, but when he pulls out for his cum shot she's waiting with her sexy garter belt back on -poor editing.
