- A summer in Sweden: Welcome to Sweden, a land synonymous with nature with its lakes, mountains and forests but also its Northern Lights, its small fishing villages and its Viking culture. The country has successfully protected its environment while creating cosmopolitan cities such as Gothenburg on the west coast or the capital Stockholm.—TV5MONDE Europe
- Beginning of the journey in Stockholm: Tiga meets William Gilman, guide of "Trans Nature Sweden": they talk about Stockholm (14 islands connected with 50 bridges) and about the green attitude (focus on public transports, use of the bicycles and recycling of the garbage): they go to the old town and take a fika (hot beverage and pastry). On the next day they go to the island of Dalarö (Stockholm archipelago) and begin their kayak trip between the islands: on an islet there are terns which begin to flow over them (they are defending their nests) and they go away: Tiga and William arrive on an islet: William explains Tiga that in Sweden there is the "allmansrätt", the right of public access to the wilderness. They walk on a soil covered with lichens , they taste a wild garlic and make a little fire to cook their supper. On the next day Tiga goes to a Viking shop, Astrid Eckerbow show her the "Hnefatafl", the Viking checkers and talks a little about the Vikings (8-11 the century in Danemark, Sweden and Norway): then they see a Viking stone in a street of Stockholm and enter into a Viking Restaurant: hurdy-gurdy music, a man dressed as a Viking warrior presents them to the audience ,(applause), the man talks about the typical arms of the Vikings (axe, shield and sword) and later Tiga and Astrid eat turkey and chicken meat. Then Tiga travels to the Western coast to Grebbestad where she meets Hanna Karlsson (who manages a guesthouse); they visit the old boathouse : the father of Hanna invites Tiga for fishing and collecting crabs. Then Andreas , Hanna's husband collects oysters and Lar, an uncle of Hanna shows Tiga how to open oysters: they eat oysters and drink a local beer.On the morning Hanna offers Tiga a juice of lemon, spinach and banana , they walk through the village ( 2.500 inhabitants in the winter but 25.000 visitors in summer), many houses have been restored, they eat a blueberry ice cream and have a walk through the natural park.Next stop: Göteborg, there Tiga meets Erik Davis , owner of the shop'(Trätoffelfabrik), Erik shows Tiga some clogs (Tiga buys one) and they go walking to the old fortress.Later they go to the fish market , Erik explains that the most common fish is the mackerel, they meet there Sandra , Erik's wife and go to a bakery where they buy butter, vanilla and cinnamon sweet breads. Finally Erik and Tiga go to the amusement park of Liseberg (founded in 1923). Besides we see zooms about the parental leave in Sweden, about the sport at work, about the saunas and the public swimming pools, about the Stockholm archipelago (with the holiday houses and the sport of swimrun), about the Swedish new cooking ( Magnus Ek and Hannes Högberg who uses natural naturals herbs), about the Koster islands (the boat captain who shows the seals, the Welsh diver who enjoys the sea beds and Stefan von Bothmer who produces vegetables and breed sheep on Sydkoster), about the passion of the Swedes for crime novels (the murder at Sandhamn by Viveca Sten), and about the forests and the importance of the wood for house building and furniture.—zutterjp48
