This is one of my favourite episodes of Home and Away even if it's 2008 season finale ending with a cliffhanger.
What I can't help to enjoy in this episode is how stunningly beautiful Kirsty is (or Christie Hayes) with formal dress and bare legs. I don't know what the whole deal is with her husband Kane as he turns up after prison, he's still a guilty man who committed crimes. If Irene gave Kirsty the letter about his appeal and early release, he won't have turn up unannounced and hassles/excessively pressuring Kirsty to pick up where he left off with her/wanting her back even forcing his way in on the relationship between her and Miles (who I'm very jealous of when seeing him and beautiful Kirsty). Kirsty rightfully tells him she's moved on, in love with Miles so he accepts defeat. Regardless him being Ollie's dad, wished Kane died in the next season 2009, as it's the last we see of him after he and Kirsty have tug-of-war over Ollie.
I'm not impressed with Melanie breaking her curfew I mean going out to the prom/formal despite Miles grounded her. Yet, I can't help but laugh at the way when she turns up at the formal looking dazed and definitely humiliating herself and acts deluded saying that Geoff still loves her, Nicole is his second choice. Several assuming or asking Melanie if she's been drinking/if she's drunk, unaware that she's actually high after smoking a joint/some drug offered by teenage loser Matthew Lyons. Nicole is so smug even telling Melody she doesn't want to share her boyfriend Geoff, even calling Melody seriously delusional. Somehow, there's only one exit door to the formal which Nicole and Geoff find it's locked - bit a whodunit yet I might know, or it seems obvious who did it. Even when Kane's car swerves Melody and crashes into the school hall...what a classic cliffhanger! Whole school formal, inebriated Melody appearing from nowhere in road, etc is quite like a horror movie like Carrie White in Brian De Palma film, or Prom Night movies (original/remake).
Rachel is not making quick progress in exposing Bridget's deceit and lies. Alf is now sucked into Bridget's mind games.
I'm not 100% know the investigation into the whole development site and Tim Coleman aspect with Jack finding out contacted Angelo who Jack then follows, ends the episode in a shocking tragedy (a character's death), quite a massive plot in next season.
Overall, this is undoubtedly one of my favourite Home and Away episodes.
