- Eddie tells Jackie he can't keep lying to Kevin, whom he now considers a real friend. Akalitus announces that All Saints is vying for a visit from Michelle Obama and confides to Jackie that O'Hara is looking for work at another hospital. Coop tries to bury the hatchet with Sam. The rift between Jackie and O'Hara softens when Jackie tells her that she'll follow her to any hospital just to be near her. Kevin tells Jackie his buddy Eddie called and is out of a job and asks if she can put in a good word for him at All Saints.—Showtime Publicity
- Jackie and her family meet with a nun for Fionas first day of school. Jackie beams as Fiona takes Graces hand on the way in.
At work, inspired by Michelle Obama, Mrs. Akalitus tries to jump rope in her office. It does not go well. Zoey knocks. She has a complaint. Mrs. A. notes that she has many. "Mine's mean-spirited, makes me feel small-hearted," Zoey says.
"Is it justified?" Mrs. A. asks.
"I can't tell. Maternity keeps stealing all the good gloves from the ER."
"Steal them right back. Hide'em, horde'em, show some initiative," Mrs. A.advises. Zoey is worried about getting caught and seeks assurances Mrs. A. will have her back. Mrs. A. advises her not to get caught.
She sees the jump rope. She asks to try it out. She goes to town.
Jackie walks in to work and sees a skateboarder body fake an old woman with a cane, causing her to fall down. As he rolls by Jackie, she throws a shoulder at him, knocking him down.
In the ER, the skateboarder sees Jackie and says she blindsided him.
"Yes, well, thats what happens when you get in her way," Ohara says bitterly. Jackie leaves. Sam asks her if there's something wrong with Dr. Ohara. She tells him to mind his own business.
Cooper asks Sam if they can bury the hatchet. Sam says they did in Cooper's head.
Zoey slinks up and begins pulls wads of gloves out of her shirt and pants. Thor and Jackie wonder where the doves and rainbow scarves are.
Eddie walks by and tells Jackie he's got "the topical from peds." She gets that its code and meets him in the pharmacy.
Eddie says the guilt over Kevin is killing him. Kevin invited him to join the bar softball team. He says he never would have gotten involved with her if he'd known she was married. He wants Kevin to know he works at All Saints. He's tired of lying. She says that doesn't work for her. He says she owes him. He tells her she's a world class liar. She tells him to tell Kevin he lost his job and is looking for work in a downtown pharmacy. She'll take it from there.
Zoey sneaks down the hall and caws at Jackie like its a drug deal signal. She got the purple gloves.
Jackie comes to treat a female patient with a bloody hand. Sam tells her the patient doesn't want to talk to Sam or Cooper. She's there with her four sons, who have chicken pox. She begs Jackie to not make her get treated by anyone who pees standing up. She needs stitches. Jackie suggests he swap with Ohara.
Mrs. A. addresses the troops, asking if they know what gets Michelle Obama out of bed in the morning. Fat kids! she says.
The staff eats a tray of donuts as Mrs. A. tries to convince them they should try to get her to visit. Her nemesis Lilly Chung at another hospital doesn't need the publicity, she says. Cooper tries to suck up to Sam with donuts.
Jackie cleans the woman's hand. She cut through to her knuckle with a hacksaw while trying to fix the toilet and goes on a rant about the toilet being crusted in urine and how hard it is for her boys to hit the hole. Ohara arrives and Jackie goes to tend to the boys outside.
She gives Thor money to feed the boys snacks and plop them in front of the TV.
Jackie and the team tend to Mr. Graham, an 80 year old who collapsed. They find a note on his chest that says he's DNR. Jackie reams the paramedics for resuscitating him, but by law they had no choice. He whispers that he wanted to die outside, so Zoey opens the blinds and allows sunlight in to the ER bay.
Mrs. A. stops Jackie and tells her OHara has her résumé out and is looking for a new job.
Zoey brings in her latest glove cache from urology and hides them in the pharmacy lavatory. Jackie follows with sheets. She finds her pill stash under the sink in back and stocks up.
Jackie checks on the angry mom. She feels bad for losing it in front of her kids.
Lenny compares notes with Zoey, saying that he heard Jackie went off at the paramedics. Ohara comes out and Zoey offers that she's availanle if she ever wants to get lunch.
Jackie talks to Kevin on the phone outside, saying she wasn't at risk of addiction. She pops a pill. She sees Ohara get into a town car and gets off the phone to follow, but the car drives off.
Jackie finds Ohara at a restaurant, eating alone. Jackie tells her she knows people at every city hospital. "I'm not that easy to get rid of," Jackie says. "If I ever needed a friend, it's now." She asks Ohara to stay and gets up and leaves before Ohara says a word.
Back at work, Cooper brings Sam an "It's a boy!" card, with words crossed out to read "Boy! Am I sorry!" Sam gets up and walks away. Cooper picks up the card and reads it aloud.
"Dear Sam, I am sorry I slept with your girlfriend. What a dumbass move. Seriously. Apologies are a two-way street and seeing that we work together and even though I am a doctor and you are a nurse, I still want to apologize to you, and for you to accept my apology, as much as I accept yours. Don't forget you broke my nose, I forgive you."
A code sounds. It's the 80 year old man. Zoey puts a plant on his bed. She thinks he was a gardener. Zoey tells her Lenny says the EMTs feel bad. "People have to stop trying to save people who dont want to be saved. End of story," Jackie says.
Ohara peeks her head in the curtain. Jackie says she has no shortage of cold shoulders between Kevin and Grace and her. She asks about lunch tomorrow. Ohara says she's not there yet. Jackie suggests the day after.
At the bar, with the girls, Jackie wraps her arms around Kevin and tells him he's stuck with her. Kevin takes her over to Eddie, who has watched the whole thing, and tells her Eddie just lost his job. He asks if she can put in a word at All Saints. She promises to see what she can do.
