CONFUSED
ayareda7 January 2022
I was very confused while watching this, do I love it? Do I hate it?

I don't hate, but it is somehow full of toxic masculinity practices in a way that made me confused whether it is embracing or judging those.

Overall, that was an enjoyable road-trip with Abu Saddam and the young boy since I love hang-out movies.

Glorifying Toxic Masculinity and Harmful Stereotypes
sanadalsalt20 June 2023
It is important to highlight that this film is extremely poor due to the overwhelming toxic masculinity portrayed throughout its scenes. The film predominantly revolves around toxic masculinity, violence, the degradation of women, and audacity. Instead of addressing and condemning such deplorable societal traits, the film showcases them as heroic or admirable.

It is crucial for societies and artists alike to tackle or, at the very least, disassociate themselves from the promotion of such reprehensible qualities. Unfortunately, this film fails to do so, perpetuating harmful stereotypes and contributing to a negative portrayal of women and society.

Overall, due to its overwhelmingly toxic content and failure to address or critique such behavior, I would rate Abo Saddam a mere 1 out of 10.

A new different kind of movie that I never saw before
mohamedabdalkareem12 November 2022
The movie is about a 24 hour period in the life of an aggressive truck driver and his assistant. The interesting thing about this movie is that there is no pathway plot or end goal for the hero to reach, it is just a 24 hour slice view of his life, which make the movie very unique and special as I have never seen this idea in a movie before. But that doesn't necessarily make a movie great on its own, what increases the greatness of this movie is that it is very open to interpretations (as a real cinema should be), it doesn't give you any direct (or indirect) answers to your questions, leaving it entirely up to your personal interpretation which is amazing and I never had that in a movie before and I have watched over a thousand movie.

Different Movie
ilariageorges18 August 2022
Warning: Spoilers
This type of movies that are all mostly taken in one place (the truck) is very very hard.

The content and scenes has to be very well done otherwise you will get bored. I didn't get bored!

I think the movie is all about "anger management" and also the side you don't see about someone.

For example his wife, she seems to be from a fair family, they tried to talk to him in a wise way but he seems to be very toxic for her!

But also when he told the assistant to get the banana peel from the ground, when he helped the woman on the road and when he saw the woman again in the caffé, he didn't interacted with her or anything, he just used words to warn her. Though you could see a part of his anger by scrashing her car.

But at the end when everything happened at the same time and he just couldn't hold it anymore, here the anger couldn't also be controlled and he ran over the car.

I like the movie mostly because it shows the psychology of a truck driver.. also of a person.

I wouldn't judge truck drivers from that movie.. it shouldn't be representing trucks drivers overall.. but more .. a person, a personality.
