A follow on to the first season story The Eye of Apollo. Michael Maloney returns as Kalon, the leader of a spiritual cult who Father Brown unmasked as a murderer.
With Father Brown's help. Kalon going by his real name Gerald Firth is out on parole as long as Father Brown helps out with his rehabilitation.
Gerald visits his old cult which has been thriving under its new leadership. He seeks forgiveness from his former flock.
Gerald is later accused of murder after the death of a woman who was not too receptive of Gerald's presence.
You have to hand it to Michael Maloney, he is the master of the creepy. You just know Gerald had his own agenda and might have been using Father Brown.
So did Gerald cleverly murder the woman or was he framed and how?
Another good episode, there was even a mention of Susie the former Polish housekeeper.
Inspector Mallory seems to be even more over the top this series. Whereas Sergeant Goodfellow has mislaid his brain in this one.
