- "V" - "Red Sky" - May 18, 2010
It's go time on the "V" finale.
First up a V soldier finds Val, and abducts her back to the New York mother-ship.
Tyler extends the dinner invite from Anna to Erica, so her fears can be assuaged about the live aboard program.
The gang decides this is it: Erica will use her dinner invite, to get into Anna's private quarters and kill the soldier eggs, with a nifty explosive devised by Hobbes. Hobbes will distract Marcus. They contact Joshua who likes the plan, but is cut off before it can be finalized. Father Jack says he'll send a message to him via Chad. Ryan is planning on going to help too, until he receives word of Val's abduction. Instead of helping he goes to the visitor center, and causes a ruckus, so he will be taken aboard. When he arrives he, and Val make up and he tells her to let the V doctors help deliver the baby. They do and the baby and mama are doing fine. Anna shows up and kills Val. Ryan is allowed to come in and mourn Val. Anna returns, and won't admit to killing her. Ryan grabs her neck but she pushes him off, and says it's his fault for not bringing Val in sooner. Anna tells Ryan the pain he feels, is what she was trying to protect him from, human emotion. She's sorry he lost her but says he now has her. She then grabs him for a little one one on bliss session. It works, she brings his baby to him, a tail pokes out of the blanket, and she welcomes Ryan home.
Hobbes lures Marcus, with the promised research from last week. However, he claims he only has half to keep the bargaining upper hand. He asks why the V's have been framing him. Marcus says they did in order to hire him, and whether he knows it or not he's been working for them for years already, he just didn't know it. Since they know he's a man with a history of selling his loyalty to highest bidder, they want him to infiltrate Fifth Column. Hobbes asks what happens if he says no. Marcus says he won't because they found "her", and shows Hobbes a picture of someone he obviously cares about although we don't see it.
Father Jack gives Decker the message and tells him to leave it in the medical lab. Chad dutifully goes to Anna, who tells him to go ahead and deliver the message in order to see what happens. Chad goes to medical to deliver the message to Joshua saying it's from a friend on the ground. Joshua says he has none. Joshua's crony freaks and says they have to send a message to Erica to know the mission is still on. He does, thinking it's a quick one that can't be traced. It can however, security comes in, and grab Joshua's colleague and isolate Joshua for Anna to deal with, surrounded by blue cylinder of energy.
Chad goes back in to medical, and Joshua realizes he set him up, he tells Chad he will be skinned alive. Chad doesn't believe that saying "Anna wouldn't do that." Joshua says "he's been blinded, and that the humans are in danger." He informs him that the Fifth Column will save humanity. He adds for good measure, that Anna didn't cure his aneurysm, she gave him one. Chad still can't believe it. Joshua gives him the directions to a restricted corridor, where he'll see what's being done to humans. Chad goes a hunting, and finds the secret hallway He sees the Live Aboard humans being tortured on the, spiny tables
Erica and Tyler arrive for dinner with Anna, and Lisa. Erica gives up her gun, and is forced to give up her purse with the explosive. The quartet has a pleasant meal, over which they discuss single motherhood, and Anna claims to be impressed by Erica's juggling. She promises they'll take good care of Tyler. Erica asks if the ship is safe from the Fifth Column. Anna says it is, and pours Erica some wine. Erica gets a call, claiming it's work, she walks out. Lisa follows, and says she knows why Erica is there. She hands her a blue energy grenade which, if placed properly, will destroy the eggs.
Lisa, now firmly on the Fifth Column's side, goes to Joshua, and gets him out of isolation. She calls him very brave, and touches his face. He thanks her, and calls her his queen.
Dinner is interrupted by security, that needs to take Anna to safety, because there's a Fifth Column attack under way. Erica asks for her gun, and Anna okays this. They all go running off. Erica runs off to the egg pool. She tosses the grenade, and runs. It explodes, and throws her through the door.
Outside there's pandemonium in the halls, with people shooting at each other. Erica wants to save Joshua, but he says she has to kill him, to keep suspicion off herself. She does, reluctantly.
Later, Anna thanks her for saving lives. She also mentions the person Erica shot wasn't a V, but a human who infiltrated, and stole a uniform.
Anna spies Chad she heads over, and thanks him for delivering the message. He keeps playing the part, and claims he's glad they won't be driven out. She thanks him for his loyalty, and says without them, he'd lose everything, and sweetly threatens his job, and health.
Anna returns to Erica, who offers thanks for the fun night. Anna suggests they do it again sometime, and Erica assures her they can count on it.
Meanwhile back at the church, the older priest has come across Father Jack's homily which is anti-V. The older father says, "They're a miracle, and maybe they are god's handiwork." Father Jack says he's going to speak from his heart. The older priest says no messages of hate, will come from his pulpit, and tells Jack to write a new homily, or find a new church to preach in.
Erica and Hobbes show up in time for homily. Erica thanks Hobbes for coming through with distracting Marcus. Fearlessly Father jack preaches his homily, about the Vs, and how humans should only serve God, and calls the Vs "false prophets." He wonders who will stand with him, and help fight the coming war. Most of the parishioners leave, but a few stay standing with Hobbes, and Erica. The older priest warns Jack that "this will end badly." Father Jack looks willing to risk it. Chad arrives, and gives Jack the nod, they exchange understanding.
Anna and Marcus and Lisa survey the frozen eggs. Anna is bereft, and asks, "Are they all dead?" Marcus replies, that "only 12 soldiers survived, and that their core temperatures were so greatly affected, they are not sure how many will make it." Anna instructs Marcus find out who else beside Joshua was responsible, at whatever the cost. She cries and screams. Lisa is taken aback. Anna is freaked out by herself and asks "what's happening to me?" Marcus says, she is experiencing her first human emotion. Lisa gets a sly Anna-like smile at this thought.
Anna goes to her monitors and calls on the other ships to come forward. Marcus warns against deploying their ships too soon, going as far as to grab her arm to try and stop her. When she completes the command, Marcus asks, "Do you know what you have done?" Anna replies, "Vengeance". As the scene progresses, we see a map of the Earth, with V ships deploying all over it, they appear to be releasing an unknown red chemical, into the atmosphere. The sound of thunder rolls, and music plays as Father Jack, Erica, Kyle, and Chad, all respectfully notice the sky turning red. Anna observes this as Lisa walks in and looks in wonder, as to what is happening. As the music continues we see that V ships have arrived over, Los Angeles, California, Hong Kong, China, and Florance, Italy, all cities appearing to have a Red Sky. The scene then shifts to the New York Mother-ship's Medical Bay. V doctors, under the apparent supervision of Marcus, revive Joshua, who suddenly awakes, and takes a deep breath. Marcus looks at him with a seemingly pleasant smile, and says "Welcome Back".
The episode ends with Anna surveying the skies. Lisa is looking on, from behind her, from her quarters on the New York Mother-Ship which is seen hovering over New York's Central Park.
