After being arrested for attemping to poison Paul Young, Susan is being interrogated and fingers Felicia at poisining the food that she has been serving Paul. The cop points out that she had her motives as well. They also found glass vials with anti-freeze in them in the dumpster behind her house. She is locked up still unable to prove her innocence.
Meanwhile, Tom and Lynette take their getaway at a local country B&B. It gets off to a slightly rocky start when Lynette lays down a no TV rule. They decide to get a good night's sleep instead of talking or making love. They try to convince themselves it's going to be great.
Back on Whisteria Lane, Bree cooked dinner for Detective Chuck Vance and he seems to have enjoyed it. They awkwardly discuss intimacy and decide to wait until his divorce is final. Bree likes this idea. He thinks waiting could be fun. They do kiss though. Lee takes out his trash and notices Vance leaving Bree's.
At the police station, Bob (acting as Susan's lawyer) is busy talking to Susan. They're trying to figure out how to implicate Felicia. Mike tells Bob about his visit to Felicia in prison when she asked him to whack Paul and offered Mike $10,000. Susan wonders why he kept it from her. Mike says because he actually thought about doing it.
Gaby and Juanita chat with Carlos on the phone while a stranger rustles in the bushes outside. It's the man from last week. Gaby notices him as he walks away and looks stricken. She goes to see Bree to get a gun. She explains about the "mystery man." Bree is reluctant to give her a deadly weapon and wants to set her up with a class and a license. Gaby says this does not solve her problem and leaves.
The police call Felicia at her house and ask her to come down to the station.
Tom and Lynette mull options near their B&B. They seem loathed to talk about the stuff they came to talk about. They meet another couple, a younger one. They are very enthusiastic and in love. They decide to go make candles with them.
Mike goes to visit Paul, who refuses to talk to him. Mike explains about Felicia and the cooking and 10 grand murdercontract offer. They go to visit Felicia who has (not surprisingly) split town.
Lee has tea with Bree and drops the bomb that he thinks Vance is gay based on seeing him at gay bars. She doesn't believe him. Lee asks about their sex lives. Bree admits they haven't done it yet. Lee calls it.
At the B&B, Tom and Lynette come back with the young couple having spent the whole day with them, and paid for everything. They seem to want to go to bed and Tom and Lynette cajole them into a game of spades in which they start bickering in a horrible way that makes the other couple uncomfortable. Tom and Lynette clearly don't want to be alone but the other couple goes to bed. Lynette goes to bed alone while Tom checks sports scores on the TV.
Bree goes to visit Vance for a lunch date. He has to cancel for work reasons so they make a dinner date. He introduces her to the guys in the squad room. (Giving credence to Lee's theory that he's using Bree as a front now that his sham marriage is over.) He also recently changed partners after nine years after they went on a camping trip together and neither would tell why they decided to "break up" their partnership. Bree swears to Lee she will prove that Vance isn't gay.
Gaby goes to a gun safety class. The teacher intimidates her into admitting she would actually be afraid to use it. She leaves the class.
Released from jail, Susan goes to visit Paul to thank him for clearing her name. He apologizes. He's decided it's time for him to go now. He says he doesn't belong on Wisteria Lane anymore. She still thinks he can start over since he's a good person. He says that's why he needs to leave, while she still thinks he's a good guy. He gives her the keys back to her house and tells her she can thank him by being happy there.
After dinner, Bree offers herself up to Vance. He says they need to stick to their agreement. She takes him to a gay bar for a nightcap. He says there's something he needs to tell her. And then one of the regular comes up and calls him "girlfriend." Bree says she knows and she loves gay people. Vance tells Bree that he was an undercover cop here to work on a drug ring. She thinks he's lying. She asks about his partner breaking up with him. It turns out that his partner was sleeping with his wife. That's part of the reason he doesn't want to have sex with Bree, so that she can't say he cheated too. Bree is glad he's really not gay and he proves it by really kissing her.
Gaby is in the supermarket and the strange man is trailing her. She finally sees him full on and chases after him, but he gets away. She asks to look at the market's security camera footage. She has them zoom in and she recognizes him as her stepfather. She thought he was dead. She heads back to the gun range and it turns out she's a good shot.
Back at the retreat, Tom and Lynette come down bickering, the young couple try to run off before they see them. They can't evade them and are forced to tell Tom and Lynette that they're not fun to hang out with since they clearly are working through something. They wish them luck and blow them off.
Paul walks into his house and is whacked in the head.
Back at the retreat, Tom and Lynette watch the rain and brood. They finally begin to talk. But can't get started. Tom brought her a new engagement ring with a big, fancy new diamond. Lynette asks why he would do that for she says that she loved the old ring the way it was. He says she made a joke about it every time she showed it to someone. Tom says he's running out of ideas to make her happy. He says he can't do this anymore. Lynette says they've survived too much to give up now. Tom says he doesn't know what Lynette wants. And he doesn't know what he wants, he just knows it isn't this.
Of course it was Felicia who whacked Paul. Now she has him duct-taped to a chair with an I.V. in his arm with threats about killing him instantly. She's brought along Beth's ashes for this little confab. While she chats with Paul, Mike and Susan are packing up their apartment. She decides to run some things over to the house.
Felicia asks for remorse from Paul as she slowly poisons him. She asks him again for an apology. He says he wasn't sorry then and he's not sorry now for killing Martha Huber because she was a horrible person the whole neighborhood hated and she deserved to die for blackmailing his first wife, Mary Alice, which led to her suicide. Felicia of course is recording this. Paul says they can't arrest a corpse. "Nope", she says but when they find his body and the tape the world will stop thinking she's crazy. Paul tells the unhinged Felicia that despite the fact that people will know she was telling the truth all along about him killing Martha, they will always think that she is crazy because of her erratic personality.
Susan goes in, sees what's going on and calls the police. A minute later, Felicia hears police sirens and runs. She runs outside and doesn't see any cop cars. It's because Susan set off a cop car toy in the kitchen. Felicia returns and whacks Susan unconscious just after she had finished untying Paul. Felicia tries to stab her with a syringe but she and Paul fight her off. Paul starts choking her. Susan convinces him to stop. Felicia grabs Beth's ashes and runs. Paul thanks Susan. He admits to Susan that he killed Martha Huber and the good man she thinks he is, he hasn't been for a long time. The police bust in and Paul says he has a confession to make.
The next morning, Felicia is in her car driving out of town when Beth's ashes in urn tip over and as she struggles with them, she is hit by a semi-truck.
