Admittedly, Dwayne ‘The Rock’ Johnson isn’t the easiest person to work with: several reports suggest that he and Ryan Reynolds got into an on-set fight during the filming of Red Notice and had problems working together. But nothing is what it seems with all the speculations and drama, so we decided to learn more about this conflict, its origins, and its implication — specifically, for Red Notice 2.
What Happened Between Reynolds and The Rock?
In 2020, at the height of the pandemic, Dwayne Johnsons, Ryan Reynolds, and Gal Gadot were filming Red Notice. The Covid-related restrictions understandably made the principal photography hard already, but The Rock added fuel to the flame of everyone’s frustration: reportedly, he was consistently hours late to the set.
According to The Wrap, one time, Johnson arrived 5 hours late — and Ryan Reynolds stood up to him, demanding the former respect everyone’s schedule. There was a...

Acclaimed author Jk Rowling recently shared a conversation she had with late actor Alan Rickman, who played Professor Severus Snape in all eight Harry Potter movies. While answering fan questions about her writing process, Jk Rowling told readers how she explained the character’s complex struggles to the late actor after he reached out to her for help in gaining insight into his complicated role in Harry’s life.
Alan Rickman played Professor Severus Snape in the Harry Potter movies, where he was often seen blurring the line between Harry’s tormentor and sometimes his fierce protector. Throughout the film, Snape, who visibly dislikes Harry, struggles with his complex emotions toward him. While he took particular pleasure in tormenting Harry, he often protected him from harm, including saving him from Voldemort and his followers.

The Deadpool 3 director and star will continue their regular partnership with a globe-trotting heist movie for Netflix.
Once Shawn Levy and Ryan Reynolds wrap up on Deadpool 3, the pair look set to continue their creative partnership on another project at some point in the next couple of years.
Levy has already directed Reynolds in 2021’s Free Guy, 2022’s The Adam Project and of course, the currently-filming Deadpool 3. Whilst this ‘globe-trotting heist’ project won’t be happening any time soon (as there’s no script yet), the announcement means that it’s likely the duo aren’t done collaborating yet.
Eight different studios were said to have been involved in an attempt to acquire the project, with Netflix eventually coming out on top (according to The Hollywood Reporter). Both men have pretty packed slates so it will be interesting to see where this project fits in: Levy of...

Somebody must've heard that we were collectively placing Dave Bautista and John Cena at the top of all our wrestlers-turned-actors rankings, because Dwayne Johnson has just lined up his next major role -- and it's the furthest thing possible from vanity projects like "Fast and the Furious" or "Black Adam."
For years, The Rock has focused on steadily building up his brand name as opposed to picking the most interesting or challenging acting gigs, but that finally seems to be changing in a big way. The Hollywood Reporter has new details on a mixed martial arts drama called "The Smashing Machine." That subject matter obviously feels right up the movie star's alley, but it's the talent involved in the director's chair that changes the equation quite a bit. After guiding Robert Pattinson to one of his best performances in "Good Time" and reminding everybody with "Uncut Gems" that few performers...

Dwayne Johnson will be taking his most dramatic role to date in a new A24 project from one half of the Uncut Gems team, Benny Safdie.
Johnson is set to star in The Smashing Machine as real-life mixed martial arts fighter Mark Kerr, a two-time UFC Heavyweight Tournament Champion. Safdie, who wrote and will direct the feature (his first solo directorial effort), has been developing the project with Johnson, who notably started his career as a professional wrestler, since 2019.
A 2002 HBO doc also titled The Smashing Machine details Kerr’s professional career and his rise through the fighting world, as well as his battle with an addiction to pain killers that lead to an overdose. Kerr earned the nickname “The Smashing Machine” due to no-holds-barred fighting style.

Netflix changed the movie game when it revolutionized the distribution and viewing of new, big-budget, original films. The streamer has seen a variety of successes with their exclusive films. Some have been able to screen in theaters for a limited time and earned a hefty bit of change before hitting the app, like Rian Johnson’s Glass Onion: A Knives Out Mystery. They have been able to get filmmakers like Martin Scorsese for a gangster epic like The Irishman. However, with the recent strikes, Netflix will have to shuffle its schedule much like other studios have.
Scott Stuber, the head of Netflix, spoke with Collider when he revealed that the sequel to Red Notice, which features the A-list trio of Ryan Reynolds, Dwayne Johnson, and Gal Gadot, had been delayed. Stuber cites the crowded schedule of superstar Dwayne Johnson as a hurdle for the sequel’s production, “I think Dwayne...
