As of November 1, 2012. Final Fantasy XIV online has shutdown. A year later the game was rebooted on August 27, 2013 as Final Fantasy XIV: A Realm Reborn.
A Playstation 3 version was planned to be released. But it was cancelled due to the negative reviews among video game critics and Final Fantasy fans.
This is considered to be the worst Final Fantasy XIV online game to be released in 2010. Later on the Square Enix company apologized to the Final Fantasy fans and 2 years later in 2012, Final Fantasy XIV was shutdown and replaced with Final Fantasy XIV: A Realm Reborn.
Considered by many to be the worst game ever made. Yoichi Wada later apologized to the Final Fantasy fans saying "The Final Fantasy brand had been greatly damaged."
