A History of Horror: The American Scream (2010)

This third and final chapter in Mick Gatiss' series takes a look at how American cinema pretty much saved the horror genre thanks to films like PSYCHO, THE Texas CHAIN SAW MASSACRE, THE EXORCIST, ROSEMARY'S BABY, THE OMEN, NIGHT OF THE LIVING DEAD, MARTIN and many others.

Once again this episode benefits from some terrific interviews and this includes David Warner, John Carpenter, George A. Romero, David Seitzer and Tobe Hooper. Once again, if you're a fan of the movies in question then this is worth watching. The interviews are certainly the highlight and especially since they're more recent than some of the other interviews out there. Warner tells some very good and funny stories about THE OMEN including what happened to his head from the film. The box office success of these movies and what impact they had on Hollywood is discussed to good detail.
