- Eddie Billings has been suspicious of his boss's habits and behaviors for some time. But when he overhears a cryptic conversation between his boss and an unidentified individual, Eddie believes that something bad is about to go down. Later that day while Eddie is listening to a conspiracy theory talk show, many of the behaviors that his boss demonstrates are listed among the tell, tell signs that an individual may in fact be a reptilian. Convinced that his boss is a reptilian spy, Eddie decides to prove his theory by following his boss to the meeting he overheard him planning earlier that day. As Eddie trails his boss he is surprised to find out that the mysterious meeting place is a seedy looking nightclub on the outskirts of town. However, the truly surprising piece of the mystery comes from what Eddie finds his boss doing inside the nightclub.—Liner House
- Eddie Billings arrives at Kennedy Antiques, the place of his employment, at 1pm like he does every day, Monday through Friday. As he goes about cleaning and organizing things, he comes across a snake skin in one of the cabinets. He collects the snake skin and is recording the time he found it when the doorbell chimes and a regular customer named Susan enters the store.
Eddie hurries to the service counter where upon his arrival realizes the appraisal document Susan is picking up, along with the antique piece she had appraised, isn't there. Eddie offers to send it to her via email but Susan demands to take the original right then. Eddie explains to Susan that the original is probably still back in his boss, Kevin's office - but Kevin can't be disturbed for another five minutes. Thinking this to be absurd, Susan marches off toward Kevin's office to get the appraisal document herself. Terrified of the consequences Eddie tries to stop her, but Susan is determined not to leave the store without the document. So, in a last ditch effort to keep the peace, Eddie offers to go back to Kevin's office himself - hoping that if she agrees, he can stall for five minutes, long enough for Kevin's number one rule not to be broken. Finally, with much persistence Susan agrees and Eddie reluctantly enters the long dark hallway that leads to Kevin's office.
As Eddie approaches Kevin's office, the hallway is filled with a sticky, stinky haze. And in the air a strange whirring noise is heard, along with grunts and groans coming from the other side of Kevin's office door. Silently, creeping up to Kevin's office, which happens to be cracked just enough to see in, the phone on Kevin's desk rings - the whirring noise stops and Kevin crosses the room to answer the phone. The conversation that follows leads Eddie to believe that Kevin is planning something sinister and that people might get hurt. Remembering Susan still waiting on him, Eddie looks down at his watch to see how close to 3pm he is, but as he looks up to address Kevin, Eddie is startled by Kevin's menacing figure standing inches in front of him. Kevin's shrill voice rebukes Eddie. Eddie tries to explain why he's there but Eddie's efforts only seem to make Kevin more agitated. Then, all of a sudden, when the clock strikes three, Kevin's rage subsides. He becomes congenial. The strangeness of the whole ordeal hangs in Eddie's inquisitive mind.
Later, at his apartment with his friend Dog, a dog named Dog, they are both listen to a conspiracy theory talk show. The host of the show begins listing off signs that might mean someone is a reptilian. This list causes Eddie to remember various encounters with Kevin that, along with that unusual amount of snake skins he finds at the antique store and the suspicious phone conversation he just overheard, cause Eddie to believe Kevin is in fact a reptilian; a reptilian with questionable motives. With his theory seemingly bolstered by overwhelming evidence, Eddie is convinced that if he follows Kevin he will be able to prove beyond a shadow of a doubt that his boss is a Lizard Man.
With his new found conviction Eddie waits outside Kennedy Antiques until closing. At closing time Kevin emerges from the store with two burgundy suitcases in hand - suitcases that Eddie has never seen before. Kevin locks up the store and walks down a dark alley, Eddie follows close behind. Kevin eventually enters a seedy looking nightclub through the back door. Eddie follows him in, not certain of what awaits on the other side.
Eddie snoops around trying to figure out where Kevin went when he hears the same strange whirring noise he heard coming out of Kevin's office earlier that day. The noise seems to be coming from the green room down the hall. As Eddie approaches, he sees Kevin standing over something moving his arms in a circular motion, but can't tell what it is. Just then the room begins to rumble and shake, almost as if in direct response to whatever Kevin is doing. Eddie brings his camera up to take a picture but as he does his shoulder is grabbed and he's spun around to see standing above him, a large man with an angry face. The man tries escorting Eddie out of the building but Eddie retaliates, trying to explain that Kevin is trying to abduct people from the nightclub. However, almost as soon as the shaking began it stopped. The large man explains that the shaking noise was simply a train passing on the tracks behind the club and that nobody was going to be abducted. Still not convinced, Eddie asks about the strange whirring noise. Moments later, even that mystery is explained as Eddie observes Kevin playing cups of water for the audience at the club.
The next day when Eddie arrives at work he brings a peace offering and apologizes to Kevin for the whole embarrassing ordeal. Kevin accepts the apology and tells Eddie not to worry about it - but something still doesn't feel right to Eddie.
Kevin leaves Eddie standing at the front counter as Kevin heads back to his office to do whatever it is that he does back there between the hours of 1pm - 3pm. As Kevin walks and unbeknownst to Eddie, at exactly the stroke of 1pm, just before Kevin enters the long dark hallway - Kevin's eyes morph from human eyes to eyes that resemble those of a reptilian.
