Chicago – Actor Gabrielle Union is pulling no punches in her first book, “We’re Going to Need More Wine.” The memoir includes Union’s account of rape when she was a teenager. And at her book event sponsored by Anderson’s Bookshop in Naperville (Ill.), she spoke of her experiences with sexual harassment in her career.

Chicago – In one of the best American films of 2017, Greta Gerwig went behind the camera to write and direct an autobiographical overview of her Senior Year in high school, within a directionless town and family. The result is enlightening truth, told with laugh-out-loud directness and connective empathy. The film is a total winner.

With Ben Stone as a father, Peter has a lot to live up to.
The elder Stone didn't have much of a personal life in the original Law & Order, but now Peter regularly describes him as strict, having high expectations for his son, and not always able to be there for him.
And on Chicago Justice Season 1 Episode 6, Peter seemed almost as haunted by the advice his father gave him after missing his baseball game as by his inability to get justice for a grieving widow.
At first, I wasn't sure why Stone was so affected by this case.
Sure, Gail Marcus was upset and cried on his shoulder, but he seemed to be taking her case awfully personally and not just because he'd lost at trial.
I was pretty sure Chicago Justice wasn't going to go the route of Stone having an affair with a witness so soon after...

All right final season, let's do this.
On Teen Wolf Season 6 Episode 1, the Wild Hunt has begun, and it is heartbreaking. It's mainly just painful for us, at the moment, because we know what everyone else has forgotten, or rather who everyone else has forgotten – Stiles.
I think that 99% of the viewers came into this premiere knowing that Stiles gets taken. It was never really a secret.
However, it should have been.
Stiles being taken by the Ghost Riders is set up sooooo nicely. There are a lot of little clues sprinkled throughout the premiere that warn us this is coming.
Don't get me wrong, it's not like the signs were wasted or anything because we knew the outcome. Each sign that Stiles was next was like a punch in the gut. They were a reminder that pain is coming, and it's coming really soon.
But think about if we didn't know what was coming.

Chicago – If there ever was a quintessential “Dad” in movies of the last generation, it would have to be Paul Dooley. The comedian and character actor is best known for portraying the patriarch in “Breaking Away” (1979) and “Sixteen Candles” (1984), but was also in director’s Robert Altman’s ‘ensemble’ and has had a stellar career.
The former “Paul Brown” was born in West Virginia, and studied acting at West Virginia University, before heading to New York City and a new career as Paul Dooley. He did stage work, stand-up comedy and the New York City version of The Second City (story below), before getting his big break in the original stage version of “The Odd Couple” in 1965, directed by the legendary Mike Nichols. While working the stage, he appeared in a number of commercials, eventually moving to Los Angeles to “be where the action is.”

Universal Pictures
Six weeks after its phenomenal opening (even saying it now, $500 million in a weekend sounds ridiculous), Universal have finally announced a sequel to Jurassic World, due for a June 2018 release. What took them so long? This film was an obvious hit from the moment the little I-Rex poked its eye out of the egg, and while it’s not exactly a cinematic masterpiece, it’s clearly tapped into an audience hunger for excitement and nostalgia. And dinosaurs.
It’s actually nice that Universal didn’t immediately confirm the sequel, and the three year gap means they have time to make something at least on a par with World – you don’t reboot a franchise only so you can make another Jurassic Park III. Chris Pratt and Bryce Dallas Howard are locked in for the sequel, so expect more cries of sexism and unbelievable action in heels.

Chicago – “Pitch Perfect 2” wasn’t bad. There was the same off-kilter weirdness and funny lines of the first film, but in this sequel there were also stretches of boring, seemingly made-up stuff to slog through. I guess repeating a premise about college singing groups doesn’t offer much more to say.
Rating: 3.0/5.0
Also, the charm that made the first film work wasn’t in evidence in the sequel. There was too much of a reliance on Rebel Wilson’s “Fat Amy” to take care of any dead spots, but often her schtick Was the dead spot. The rest was just a repeat of the first movie – funny a cappella group names, sing-offs, weird jokey asides from the participants, in addition to Elizabeth Banks (who also directed the film) and John Michael Higgins as Greek Chorus commentators. It's been almost ten years since the Wildcats first crowded the halls of East High School, singing of a new start, the status quo, and of course, the big game. The first of three High School Musical movies debuted on January 20, 2006, quickly becoming the most successful Disney Channel Original Movie ever produced. Launching the careers of a then-unknown set of teenagers, lots has happened to the cast since the last film wrapped in 2008. Much of the cast has continued in the musical tradition of the trilogy, taking on various roles in other musicals on stage and screen. Later this Spring, Vanessa Hudgens will become the second of the group to make her Broadway debut, as the title character in Gigi. Not too long ago, we were all living in the New Millennium, less affectionately known as the age of Y2K. Or if you want to be technical about it, it was the first decade of the 21st century. And during those 10 years, pop culture thrived. Not only did Nipplegate change the way we looked at Super Bowl halftime shows, but things like Laguna Beach made us rethink “reality,” Heath Ledger’s performance in The Dark Knight redefined the term “Oscar-worthy,” and Glee revived the television musical.

Chicago – There are a couple directions to the long career of Bob Saget. The first is of Danny Tanner, the Dad he portrayed in the 1980s sitcom “Full House,” and the second is his stand-up act, with a reputation for filthy jokes that has no boundaries.
Both sides are revealed in his memoir “Dirty Daddy: Chronicle of a Family Man Turned Filthy Comedian.”
Saget came through Chicago in April of 2014 on a very special night at The Museum of Broadcast Communications here. “An Evening with Bob Saget” brought the comedian to the museum, and he sat down with Roe Conn of Wls-am for a Q&A session and banter with the audience.

Saget came through Chicago in April of 2014 on a very special night at The Museum of Broadcast Communications here. “An Evening with Bob Saget” brought the comedian to the museum, and he sat down with Roe Conn of Wls-am for a Q&A session and banter with the audience.

MTV’s teen dramedy Awkward. premieres its newest season on Tuesday, April 15. Season 4 chronicles senior year for fictitious Palos Hills High School, so what challenges will the gang face this year? I chatted with Greer Grammer, who plays vapid but sweet Lissa, for the details on senior year. “We have college apps, college tours, class rankings come out, so it’s funny to see with all of Jenna’s misbehavior from last season where she is as far as school is concerned. There’s lots of fun stuff with Jenna and Tamara, and Jake and Tamara have their own thing, Jake kind … Continue reading →

Zac Efron has revealed that he would not turn down a chance to film another High School Musical sequel.
The actor told E! Online that he would "100%" do a fourth movie in the franchise, despite taking on more serious roles in recent years.
"We're all thinking about it," he said. "I continue to see all the guys from High School.
"Every time we do... there's just this look between us. It's so cool because we never forget a single moment of that experience."
High School Musical began as a TV movie on the Disney Channel in 2006, followed by a sequel the following year and a cinema release of Senior Year in 2008.
A fourth movie is currently in the works from Disney, but without any of the original stars such as Efron, Vanessa Hudgens and Ashley Tisdale.
Efron confirmed in early February that he was in talks to star in Star Wars Episode VII.

Beau drops some major spoilers about season 4, including Matty’s plans — or lack thereof — for the future.
Awkward wrapped its third season Dec. 17, giving everyone in Palos Verdes just the right amount of closure, while still leaving their futures very much open-ended. Jenna and Matty began the hour apart, but did the magic of prom bring them together once again? HollywoodLife.com spoke with Beau Mirchoff about Jenna’s big decision, her chances for an eventual reunion with Matty, and what we can expect from the gang’s final year in high school.
‘Awkward’ Finale Q&A: Beau Mirchoff Talks Jenna’s Choice
So, Matty’s with Bailey and Jenna’s alone. Are you happy with that?
I feel great about it. I think [Bailey's] a smart, attractive, funny young lady. She’s similar to Jenna in a lot of ways if you go back to season one, which is interesting to look at.

More than 30 seniors at a San Diego high school are forced to miss their graduation and prom after they filmed a video on school grounds showcasing the popular “twerking” dance craze! Do You think that’s too extreme?
Senior year is supposed to be one of the most exciting times in teens’ lives, especially with prom and graduation to close out the last four years. But for a group of seniors at Scripps Ranch High School in San Diego, those milestones were ripped away from them.
Students Suspended For Twerking Video
The video shows about 30 girls all engaging in the popular “twerk” dance craze, in which they move their hips suggestively. A man, who calls himself WetMilk, is also on the videos looking on at the women and seemingly judging their dance moves.
But the school’s administrators insist that the students involved violated the honor code laid out in...

Chicago – If a “Mount Rushmore” of American film critics was ever considered, one of the men that would be a strong candidate is Leonard Maltin. An influential film essayist, critic and historian since the 1960s, Maltin also wrote the go-to directory for film buffs prior to the internet, “Leonard Maltin’s Movie Guide.”
Maltin’s love of film began in his childhood in Teaneck, New Jersey. He turned that love into self publication at the age of 15, distributing “Film Fan Monthly,” a fanzine dedicated to films from the golden age of Hollywood. This publication led to the next phase in his life, which he relates in a story below. The “Leonard Maltin Movie Guide” became the bible for film lovers – again before the internet – solving many a movie dispute and leading to the phrase “let’s look it up in Maltin.”

October 19th finally arrived! Here's Emma's review of Community's season four opener...
This review contains spoilers.
4.1 History 101
After an extended sabbatical, our favourite dysfunctional study group finally walked back through the doors of America’s most dubious educational institution this week, allowing us to breathe a sigh of (almost) relief. Following a hiatus that saw the show’s creator Dan Harmon part ways with NBC, a precarious will they/won’t they be cancelled tug of love/disgust, where it looked as if Community would never again grace our screens, along with a display of diva behaviour from Chevy Chase that would make Joan Collins blush with embarrassment and frankly, the fact the premiere aired at all is nothing short of a miracle.
But as with all miracles, you’d be forgiven for approaching season four’s opener with extreme caution. Until its removal from our schedules,...

After a long hiatus, the new season of "Community" kicked off, and it looked quite a bit different. In what TV.com thought was a clever nod to the behind-the-scenes drama, the Season 4 premiere featured a show-within-the-show, or more specifically, a show within Abed's mind.
Abed was stressing about this being their senior year -- and thus their last year together -- and so he was encouraged to find a happy place inside his mind. Not surprisingly, that place was a lot like a traditional sitcom, complete with a laugh track. Was this "a recognition of how Community might be if NBC had its way completely with the show," as TV.com wrote?
Series creator and showrunner Dan Harmon was let go, thus making this the first episode without his unique and strange creative vision steering the ship. While there were some differences in tone and presentation, one thing that...

About the Director: Zhou Hao was born in 1968 in China. He previously worked as a photographer at Xinhua News Agency and Southern Weekend. He started making documentary films in 2001 and now lives in Guangzhou. Filmography: Houjie Township (2003), Senior Year (2005), Using (2007), Cotton (2010), The Transition Period (2009), Cop Shop (2009), Cop Shop II (2011) James Mudge: I believe you worked as a photographer before – what inspired you to start making documentary films? Zhou Hao: Conventional media is not much fun, every newspaper has their point of view and is just a medium for certain voices. After staying with them for over 10 years, I want more freedom, less restriction. Documentary is a freer medium. In making Senior Year, how was it working with the high school students? The film feels very natural, and they seem to have been very much at ease with you and the camera. Among all of my films, Senior Year is...

Screening at the 2012 Chinese Visual Festival. “Using” was Chinese documentary director Zhou Hao’s follow up to his much loved and critically praised high school doc “Senior Year”, and is a very different proposition indeed. The 2007 film is right at the other end of the spectrum, with Zhou focusing on a low level Guangzhou drug dealer and heroin user called Ah Long – a controversial subject and a subculture very rarely covered by mainstream Chinese media. Shot over a period 3 years, the film follows Ah Long through his many ups and downs and charts not only his attempts to make money and stay one step ahead of the law, but his relationship with his girlfriend and fellow addict, Ah Jun. “Using” is an absolutely fascinating documentary on a number of different levels. Right from the start, which includes shots of drug users cleaning needles with water and of Ah Long visiting...
