Actress Shanice Banton (Violet) is a passable actress when she doesn't have to carry an episode. Unfortunately, in this episode, her acting was horrible; it sounded like she was reading her lines. The same for Samantha Walkes; their combined poor acting detracted from the storyline for me, and I cut the show off within 20 minutes. I guess this was the D&I Black History month episode...
There must be a black talent shortage in Canada because Shanice and her predecessor, Mounda Traore (Rebecca), are not as competent in their craft as Johnny and Lochlan (George & Henry).
Perhaps someone should inform the creators of MM that if they want to be diverse and inclusive, then don't pander to Affirmative Action low standards of just hiring a person of color that is not the best candidate to check a box. There is a tremendous amount of black talent out there, so there is no need to settle. I feel sorry for Shanice; she is trying her best, but it is not her fault she got hired.
