Set in the golden era of Bollywood of 1960’s, The Xpose is a poor attempt at a whodunit plot, where the story revolves around the murder of an actress in a Bollywood party. This 80 minute musical thriller is a recipe that has gone horribly wrong for the National Award winner and director Anant Mahadevan, who is well known to have delivered screenplays like the famous Mee Sindhutai Sapkal.
Reportedly inspired by real-life events of Bollywood during the 60’s, the movie had the potential to be a blockbuster hit. It was the poor screenplay and editing that killed the real quintessence of the film. The film’s characters Zara and Chandni (played by Sonali Raut & Zoya Afroz) are reportedly based on Parveen Babi and Zeenat Aman.

Himesh Reshammiya is back to facing the camera. While it is a known fact by now that his next film as an actor is titled The Xpose, the newest development is that it would be directed by Ananth Narayan Mahadevan, who recently won 4 National Awards for his Marathi film Mee Sindhutai Sapkal. "Other than this, Mahadevan has been at the helm of another critically acclaimed film Red Alert - The War Within (2009). Now with The Xpose, he and Himesh are looking at probing the decade of 60s which has never been explored before. In fact it would be entering a space that will be a revelation in Hindi cinema." Himesh and Ananth go back a long way as former has composed music for latter's Dil Maange More and Aksar (remember the chartbuster 'Jhalak Dikhla Jaa'?). As per sources, The Xpose would be set as a musical thriller in the zone...
