First 2 episodes end with you saying wow
CommanderCobra19 June 2023
I'm late to this party but this show is really good 2 episodes in. The writing is smart, the cast is outstanding, and it's just really well done.

Comparing this to other similar recently released political type shows , The Diplomat stands out. I was so disappointed in Kiefer Sutherland's Rabbit Hole, The Diplomat is everything that show aimed to be.

You get Keri Russell and Rufus Sewell shining and it's a great who done it premise while also a Birds Eye view of how jumbled politics can be. I'll be looking forward to watching these, onto episode 3, how many will I watch in one day? Stay tuned!

Exciting Stuff Overwhelmed by Protocols
Hitchcoc3 July 2023
If there is any validity to the events portrayed in two episodes here, the amount of insipid protocol and rule following would prevent anything getting done at any time. When the husband is grabbed up, we start to slip away from reality, but so be it. At the core is whether Iran was responsible for the deaths of all those British sailors, but the ambassador can't begin to do the job because of the ridiculous obstacles put in her path. The Secretary of State is a buffoon who is so entrenched he couldn't scratch his ear without permission. Status quo is the way to go!" So you go to British authorities. Nope! And the U. S. President postures after the British Prime Minister loses control of his mouth, possibly creating a major world conflict.

Warning: Spoilers
"Don't Call It a Kidnapping" definitely throws out the book on believability here. I already have a strong prediction for what I think is going to happen and who the bomber was, but I will save that for myself and hope that I am wrong.

But I also strongly do not think that they fake kidnap important ambassadors and figures to try and prove a point in international politics. Maybe that stuff just doesn't get covered by the news though?

The Eidra Graham character is absolutely awful though and I don't know who cast this person or what the point of her is. Outside of her not much to complain about when it comes to casting though.
