Powerful
So nice to finally see Jennifer and Kenny back - the show has suffered without their presence in 5A and this episode was truly something special. They are both powerhouses and the perfect pair to pull off such a heavy and important storyline. I REALLY felt the heart the show has been missing this season.
Looking at the writing and director credits for this episode, I think having some fresh talent has really helped. MORE of this please. 5b has been off to a good start so far, despite one or two questionable choices in the first episode (I'll reserve judgements until we finish the longer game - not all journeys are linear), both have been entertaining, well paced and cathartic. Hopefully this momentum continues and the show keeps serving their core cast (!!) which the audience knows, loves, and deserves to see solid storylines from.
I look forward to Maddie and Chimney's journey post Boston, as I look forward to Eddie's journey this season. Cannot wait to see Hen and Chimney reunite, and cannot wait to see Buck and Eddie's relationship continue to develop, and the eventual reuniting of the core 118. I hope the writers dig deep this season.
