The Cinema Snob: Sadomania
The Cinema Snob (2009)
"Sadomania"
In this now long-running series, writer-director Brad Jones play the title character, the Cinema Snob, a mainstream or high art critic who decides to review some of the most notoriously bad movies ever made. Since the original episode this series has grown to have a very high cult following and fans from around the world.
This time out the critic takes a look at Jess Franco's SADOMANIA, which was just one of many women-in-prison movies that the Spanish director made. There's a long running joke here about the "female" star of the movie that's actually one of the highlights as The Cinema Snob really tears into this picture. I will admit that I think the actual SADOMANIA movie is actually pretty good for its type and I wondered while watching this episode if the critic thought so as well because this here wasn't nearly as brutal on the picture as one would expect. There are some funny bits scattered throughout but the highlight is certainly the critic's wife.
Episode B+
