Americans seem incapable of seeing American Indians
NanoFrog4 August 2023
While this comic strip, re-enacted effort by the History Channel tries to come up with a few new observations, it joins the long list of just clueless, largely useless depictions of honest American Indian history. I am at a loss to understand why and how producers of these so-called documentaries are so unable to present, or even find, accurate information. This shallow documentary highlights the terrible level of misinformation and lack of interest most American have on these subjects. For people who know nothing or almost nothing they have an 8 rating for this nonsense. In no other area of documentary production are accuracy and truth at a lower, disgraceful level than those about American Indians. For one big reason, these writers and producers never talk with actual American Indians. On the rare occasions they do they fill their mouths with words written by white producers. I had high hopes for one, but it is all hype with no substance and Custer still comes out the Hero-Victim of his illegal and foolish invasion of an American Indian settlemnentg. It gets so many things wrong that it is the proof of how indifferent and even hostile modern producers are into discovering the higher truths. American Indians, and I am an Ojibwe one, have all shown contempt for this harsh cartoon of a study. It never ends.
