A little ahead of its time and already discussing important issues with a great sense of humor, this short film reverses gender roles and
the part they play in society. Here, Paulo Betti plays a man who is actually the housewife to her hard-working wife (Elaine Giardini), who takes care
of the bills of the house and complains about everything when she's with him and acts a misoginistic type when she's talking about men with her colleagues.
Things turn sour in the family when the man reveals to his wife that he's expecting another child. Crisis ensues in this hilarious short.
This was the 1990's when the discussions about feminism, the roles women and men play and interact weren't all much dicussed and people were still
prejudicial with thoughts of what one does and the other don't, this film is quite groundbreaking in dealing with the issue and showing how tough and
critical both sides can be and act. Today the distinction is less critical and both genders can accomplish great things and we no longer keep saying
"only men can do that" and only women does that". Each can have their way and make important contributions to society and improve their relationship.
The film addressed a nice topic which can make audiences discuss and laugh about it but it didn't gave much of a conclusion or a solution to the
couple's conflict. It was disappointing in a way.
And despite the B-quality of a typical video project, the movie has some nice acting by the cast, specifically Giardini who was hilarious as
the woman who behaves like a typical macho guy; and Betti and José Mayer, usually the alpha male guys from soap operas, playing more delicate types. I enjoyed it a lot. 8/10.
