As we close the book on the 2019 broadcast pilot season, largely overshadowed by the WGA-Ata standoff, here is Deadline’s annual honor roll of those who excelled at the 2019 upfronts. The list includes writers/producers/pods who scored at least one new series at the upfronts and have multiple scripted shows.

Greg Berlanti has toppled his own record with an eye-popping 18 series ordered for the 2019 calendar year.
Shows that hail from the super-producer’s Warner Bros.-based Greg Berlanti Productions dominate the CW’s schedule and are spread among five other major outlets: CBS, NBC, Fox, Netflix and the DC Universe streaming platform. This time last year, Berlanti set the high-water mark of productions for an individual producer at 14 series.
Berlanti’s haul comes as the major networks prepare for a week of schedule presentations in New York as they woo advertising dollars for the 2019-20 season.
In acknowledging the milestone, Berlanti emphasized the importance of the collaboration among the small army of creatives that work on the shows. He also praised Berlanti Productions president Sarah Schechter for her crucial role in managing the company’s volume.
“I never thought we would grow to this size,” Berlanti wrote Saturday on Twitter.

TV Fanatics have been enjoying the new CBS miniseries The Red Line.
We had the opportunity to speak with Elizabeth Laidlaw who plays Victoria "Vic" Renna, the partner of Paul Evans (Noel Fisher), the police officer accused of shooting an unarmed black man, setting off the compelling story at hand.
Please enjoy our conversation below before watching the next two episodes of The Redline on CBS.
What were your thoughts after first reading the script for The Red Line?
So, I have an interesting history with this. I've known Caitlin and Erica who are the creators for some time. We were all based in Chicago and working around each other at the same time. So I knew them, and I had gone to see the play A Twist of Water, on which Red Line is based. And I loved it. It's one of my favorite plays I've seen in many years.

We’ve got questions, and you’ve (maybe) got answers! With another week of TV gone by, we’re lobbing queries left and right about shows including Dynasty, The Blacklist, Game of Thrones, Barry, Riverdale, NCIS and Svu!
1 | Was Hawaii Five-0‘s Tani touching up an old photo of Junior’s dad (while at the beach!) one of TV’s most shameless and overt product demos?
2 | Dynasty fans, were you pleasantly surprised by Liz Gillies’ spot-on impression of Nicollette Sheridan, now that she’s playing both Fallon and Alexis?
3 | Are we really to believe that The Blacklist‘s meticulous Brockton...

ABC’s 8-10 Pm American Idol continued its run as Sunday’s top broadcast program in the demo, more than doubling NBC’s World of Dance head-to-head in total viewers, and by sixth tenths in the demo.
CBS’ 60 Minutes clocked the night’s biggest crowd. ABC’s America’s Funniest Home Videos, with its first original since April 7, beat the newsmag in the demo, jumping three tenths since that prior original.
Tumbling off its newsmag lead-in, the launch of CBS’ 8 Pm special event series The Red Line tied Fox’s debut of Friday’s Proven Innocent as the lowest Big 4 drama premiere so far this season. The Red Line’s demo was little more than half the 0.9 CBS has averaged in the two-hour time slot this season with God Friended Me and NCIS: La.

Tara Stone, 27, grew up in Monument, Colo. and was attending the University of Denver for a music performance degree when she decided it was time to start over, move to San Diego and pursue screenwriting.
"Everyone says San Diego is paradise. It's not true," said Stone, adding that she's glad to be spending some vacation time at home. "Colorado is paradise."
Her screenplay, "Red Line," recently screened at the San Diego Film Festival and won the U-t Award. It's also been selected for international distribution and is currently available to buy stateside on iTunes and Amazon.com, and will be available this fall at Walmart, Target and Netflix.
