- Linden and Holder continue their search for the man with the odd tattoo. They eventually identify him as Alexi Giffords, a young man with a long juvenile record who lived in foster care for 10 years. They also find that he lives 3 blocks from the Larsens. They're also keeping an eye on Stan Larsen and begin to wonder if he is back with the mob. Stan goes to pick-up Belko Royce's remains only to learn that Janek has already taken care of it. Holder tell Linden that he thought the incriminating photo of Richmond was legit and he just put his trust in the wrong people. Darren Richmond meanwhile begins his therapy and the Mayor pays him a visit, promising to support him in the next election. As if she doesn't have enough on her hands, Linden learns from her ex-husband's attorney that he will be seeking joint custody.—garykmcd
- Linden and Holder are discussing Rosie's bag and the guy with the tattoo. Holder tells her he honestly thought the picture of Richmond was legit, having obtained it from a trusted source. They watch one of Stan's trucks being used to move boxes from a Janek warehouse.
Stan gets a call about Balko's body needing to be taken care of. Stan's son Tommy doesn't want to go to school. He then gets a call about the cops finally wanting to send a car to their home. Tommy locks his brother in the trunk of the family car which leads to Terry yelling at him and he screaming that "you're not my mom!"
Linden and Holder drop by to see an organized crime expert connection of hers that knows Janek's history. He shows them a past murder Stan committed for Janek that looks strikingly similar in method to Rosie's.
Richmond isn't doing very well. He yells at a therapist when he doesn't think a proper level of empathy has been shown.
Linden and Holder see Monica Krol, the girlfriend of the man Stan killed. She's still mad Stan was never arrested for Piotr Michaelski's death.
Linden gets a call from a lawyer representing Jack's father. He says she is being sued for joint custody of Jack, and she should retain counsel of her own.
Linden and Holder go visit Rosie's friend Sterling. She recognized the tattoo from a guy who was hanging outside Rosie's house "staring at her." Rosie told her the guy had been in prison. Linden and Jasper glare at each other from down the hall.
Jamie calls Gwen, who is in DC. He needs some information for the doctors to help Richmond. She gets emotional talking about his morning routine. She says the way to get him out of bed is "being Darren Richmond again."
Linden and Holder meet with a prison tattoo artist. He said he gave the one in question to a foster kid known as Giffs.
Richmond asks Jamie to put him in the wheelchair so he can get some air. They end up falling to the floor.
The guy Holder finds in the system is named Alexi Giffords. Alexi spent tens years in foster care. He has a long rap sheet of petty crimes and lived three blocks from the Larsens.
Stan shows up to get Belko and is told the funeral home already got the body. Stan goes to see Janek, who picked up Belko. Janek is using the fact Rosie's killer is still on the loose as leverage to bring Stan back to his operation. Janek mentions that Tommy is being teased at school about Rosie.
Based on his history, Linden thinks Alexi is a "planner" rather than a runner.
Mayor Adams pays Richmond a visit in the hospital, offering his full support in four years. Richmond seems to think Adams may have been involved in why the police suspected him.
While outside Alexi's home, Holder asks Linden about her foster past. She seems to get upset.
Stan shows up at Tommy's school and interrupts an interaction with some kids. He tells Tommy the next timr he's being bullied, to hit the biggest kid among those who pick on him, "hard," and to aim for the bridge of the nose.
Terry calls the Ames home and hangs up when Jasper's mother answers.
Richmond tells Jamie he wants to withdraw from the race. Jamie fights back, dumping fan letters on his bed and calling him a coward. Richmond fires him and Jamie leaves.
Linden goes to see Regi. She wants Regi to get her Alexi's file. Regi says no and Linden tells her it could help solve a murder.
Stan finds something slippery on the floor of one of his trucks along with a piece of wiring. He goes to see Janek, who admits he "cleaned up Beau Soleil." Stan demands to know what he did to Rosie and is held back by two henchmen. Janek tells him to forget about Rosie and focus on his children.
Alexi comes home and spots Holder. He takes off running and initially get away. Holder calls in back-up.
Regi has somebody get Alexi's file to Linden. The social worker says he was abandoned by a teenage mother. He was adopted by the Giffords at 13, then ran away at 16. He got into the system and she lost track of him. The social worker says his birth name is Michaelski and his mother was a Monica Krol.
Holder finds a photo in Alexi's apartment.
Monica stops by to tell Stan, "you got what you deserved."
Linden looks through comics in Alexi's apartment. Inside one she fins a hand-drawn picture of Rosie that appears to be scratched out.
