More Fun from Director Glut

Revenge of Dracula, The (1958)

** 1/2 (out of 4)

Another fun monster movie from director Don Glut. This time out Dracula (Glut) brings the Frankenstein monster back to life but the vampire is in need of blood so he goes out to find a victim but the sun is about to rise. After murdering a man the others track Dracula back to the castle where they are attacked by the monster. This amateur movie might not have had a budget but at least it's maker knew the genre and loved it. As I went through these Glut shorts it became obvious that the man clearly had a great imagination and he wanted to put it to use showing off the type of films that he loved. For the most part this is another entertaining one as Glut actually does a pretty good job in the role of Dracula. He certainly had the right look and I enjoyed the walk and style that he brought to the role. Another major plus is that there were a couple neat tricks and especially what ends up happening to Dracula. The "effect" of what happens is obvious but it was still nicely done. At just under 6-minutes there's really not too much going on here in terms of story but if you're a fan of those classic Universal monster movies then you'll certainly want to check this out.
