The Comic Strip returns to British TV on Friday 14th October as Channel 4 air a one-off special entitled The Hunt for Tony Blair. The former Prime minister’s fall from grace may be no laughing matter for his political supporters but comedy writers Peter Richardson and Pete Richens have a rather different take on the matter.
In this film noir style caper Stephen Mangan plays Tony Blair as he tries to evade the authorities after committing a murder after a rough day at number 10. The hapless politician seeks refuge at the home of Inspector Hutton (Robbie Coltrane) and before the hunt is over he also has a run in with the Maggie Thatcher (Jennifer Saunders). Channel 4 has unveiled a photograph of the cast in the new Comic Strip film The Hunt For Tony Blair. The show, which is due to air next week, stars Stephen Mangan as the former Prime Minister Tony Blair. The story focuses on what happens when Blair goes on the run after being accused of murder for his part in the Iraq War.
