- John Reese: Where did you come from?
- Harold Finch: I breached the space/time continuum. Not really... but I did sense my privacy being invaded...
- John Reese: I need to make an appointment.
- Wendy McNally: [Looks at his hair] Wash and cut? Something a little more modern? Bit of styling? Is this, uh, gray, au naturel or au bouteille?
- John Reese: It's, uh...
- Wendy McNally: Sexy either way. So you single?
- John Reese: What? Single? Yes.
- Wendy McNally: [Leads Reese into the salon, there's a bunch of women getting their hair done] Girls, he's single.
- All: Whoo!
- Congressman Jim Hallen: Do you have a number where you can be reached?
- Harold Finch: [Handing him the pen cam] It's written on this. My Plume de Nom, rather than Nom de Plume.
- Harold Finch: We have work to do. Numbers have come in.
- John Reese: What do you mean, numbers?
- Harold Finch: What plurals usually mean. More than one; in this case, four.
- Detective Lionel Fusco: Carter? What are you doing here? You got shot, take some time off.
- Detective Joss Carter: My vest got shot. It can take some time off.
- Harold Finch: Detective, leave your phone on when you talk to Congressman Hallen.
- Detective Lionel Fusco: You can hear me all the time?
- Harold Finch: Yes... and I'm hearing rather too much of your lower intestines. Can you possibly move your phone from your belt to your jacket pocket?
- Detective Lionel Fusco: [At a crime scene] What the hell are you doing here? You didn't kill her, did you?
- John Reese: Lionel, after all we've been through.
- Detective Lionel Fusco: Exactly.
- John Reese: Find this girl Paula. Address is on the back. Keep your eyes on her.
- Detective Lionel Fusco: Paula Vasquez? Why?
- John Reese: Don't want her ending up like the lady upstairs.
- Detective Lionel Fusco: You think she might?
- John Reese: I know she won't. Because you'll throw yourself in front of the bullet.
- Detective Lionel Fusco: Funny guy.
- Detective Lionel Fusco: Yeah, that Paula girl? I lost her. She gave me the slip.
- John Reese: [Sarcastic] Well, good work, Detective.
- Detective Lionel Fusco: I'm sorry, okay? Look, another thing. I think she bought a firearm.
- John Reese: You lost her and she weaponed up? You better stick to your day job.
- Detective Lionel Fusco: You son have a lot of money on him that night?
- Congressman Jim Hallen: I have no idea. Why would that be pertinent?
- Detective Lionel Fusco: Two people were murdered. We think they were both at the crash site. We also think they found money in the car.
- Congressman Jim Hallen: I'm sorry. I don't know what to say.
- Detective Lionel Fusco: Was he dealing drugs?
- Congressman Jim Hallen: [sighs] Look, he's dead. Can't we just let it go at that?
- Detective Lionel Fusco: Two other people are dead too. So, no.
- Paula Vasquez: You get back, or I will shoot you.
- John Reese: [Easily takes the gun from her] If you're going to buy a gun, make sure you know how to use it.
- Wendy McNally: You came to the salon. What do you want?
- John Reese: You mean apart from a haircut?
- Mark Snow: Hello John.
- John Reese: Mark.
- Mark Snow: Glad to see you're still alive.
- John Reese: I bet you are.
- Mark Snow: I'm surprised you wound up in New York City. I thought you'd get yourself a cabin in the woods. Montana, maybe.
- John Reese: What do you want, Mark?
- Mark Snow: It's time to come home John. Slate's been wiped clean.
- John Reese: You know that'll never happened.
- Detective Lionel Fusco: What did you tell 'em about the CI?
- Detective Joss Carter: The truth. He was taken out by an unknown shooter.
- Detective Lionel Fusco: The guy, you got a good look at him this time, didn't you?
- Detective Joss Carter: No. Not his face.
- Detective Lionel Fusco: Well, maybe that's a good thing. 'Cause you know, it would be hard. You don't know whether to thank the guy or arrest him.
- Detective Joss Carter: No, that'd be easy. I'd arrest him.
- Captain Womack: What else have you got on your special forces guy?
- Detective Joss Carter: [Eyes Agent Snow] Everything I got is in the file he's reading. Whoever he is.
- Captain Womack: You've been after this guy for months. You don't even have a description?
- Detective Joss Carter: He's tall. He wears a suit. Sometimes rides a motorcycle. That's it.
- Captain Womack: This is serious, Carter. You letting him run, you've made him a problem for the whole department.
- Detective Joss Carter: I did not let him run. I've been trying to catch the son of a bitch.
- Detective Joss Carter: You're CIA. I met plenty like you in the green zone. So why are you worried about me?
- Mark Snow: Because of the man you're chasing. He's dangerous.
- Detective Joss Carter: He saved my life. What was that, an accident?
- Mark Snow: No. Just proves he still has good instincts.
- Detective Joss Carter: Do you even know him?
- Mark Snow: Yeah. I was his best friend.
- Detective Joss Carter: Then why do you want him so bad?
- Tyrell Evans: Because he used to kill people for his country. Now he just kills them. His victims. The ones that we know of. For some he deserves a medal. For some, the chair.
- Detective Joss Carter: Why are you telling me this?
- Mark Snow: 'Cause we want you to know who he is. He's an incredibly dangerous, incredibly gifted man who's been almost destroyed by the things he was made to do. He's always looking for someone to trust, but his paranoia makes trust impossible.
- [Puts a picture on the table]
- Detective Joss Carter: I don't understand.
- Mark Snow: Kara Stanton, his CIA handler. They were a team. Inseparable, saved each other's lives a dozen times, and then...
- Tyrell Evans: He killed her. Then disappeared. We thought he was dead. Gave him his star on the wall at Langley. Then three months ago, you ran his prints. Brought him back from the dead.
- Mark Snow: We want to bring him back in before he kills anyone else. Before he kills himself. We want to help him.
- Detective Joss Carter: So where do I come in to all of this?
- Mark Snow: We think he trusts you. Like he trusted her.
- John Reese: We have to concentrate on the ones still alive. Wendy and Paula.
- Harold Finch: Yes. I've looked for connections, found none. No shared employment history. No social networking. Paula's online footprint is miniscule, so she's either the paranoid sort or she likes to fly beneath the radar; both of which I can relate to.
- Detective Lionel Fusco: Wish we could hear what he was saying.
- Detective Joss Carter: Unfortunately, we're not the NSA.
