Beautiful documentary
neceseco22 March 2014
Wonderful documentary about the linguistic discoveries of Dennett. It also shows perfectly how miserable and vicious is Noam Chomsky, too often believed to be an anti- system pacifist whereas in reality denies the truth and sabotage other people's work to hide the fact that he was completely wrong. The images are incredibly beautiful and they show the environment in which this language came to exist, the life of the Piraha and how they interact with each other, and Daniel himself. It's a very calm and reasonable documentary, with more people adding their opinions, and even the opinion of Noam Chomsky himself, when he denies the evidence.

Limiting itself

Warning: Spoilers
Beautiful subject, imagery, story, ... But the movie takes a strange turn into this intellectual debate and the need to be right. I would have loved to know more about the language itself and how it influences the lifestyle of the tribe. What we can learn from them. But only the first 15 minutes seem to be about this beauty. The rest is mostly criticism about temporary science, which I think has it's place but shouldn't take the leading role.
