Director and co-writer Brian Russell met co-writer Ross Popick while moderating the video club at Popick's high school.
Director Brian Russell has been a fan of James Naughton since he first watched the 1974 TV series version of Planet of the Apes as a child, in which Naughton starred.
James Naughton was unsure about working on a short film by unknown filmmakers. His daughter read the script and convinced him he had to play Robert. Naughton is also good friends with four-time Tony-award winning actor Boyd Gaines (who had worked with the director on Tommy and the Guru,) and Gaines also suggested Naughton take the role.
Actor Mike Boland (Director Brian Russell's most frequent collaborator) has a cameo as Tommy the waiter. Boland sent the script to Pat Bowie, who read it and immediately agreed to play the role of Claudette.
This marks the third time Boland and Bowie have performed together. The first was in To Kill A Mockingbird at Hartford Stage in 2009. The second was in the award-winning Off-Broadway production of The Orphans' Home Cycle in 2009 and 2010.
