Little Journeys in the National Forests of Colorado (1920)
*** 1/2 (out of 4)
This here is yet another beautiful Travelogue including in the Treasures Vol. 5: The West collection. This one takes us to Pike's Peak off the Rockies as we get to see various locations including the auto highway, the Garden of the Gods, the highest motor drive, Glen Cove and its zig-zag road and we get to see 14,109 feet above sea level. This here is certainly going to appeal to those who know these locations and want to see how they originally looked but even people unfamiliar with the location should love this film. I really loved all of the wonderful visuals but the highlight has to be the Glen Cove and its dangerous roads. We're told about the winding roads and when looking at them I couldn't help but wonder how many people had died on them or at least been seriously injured. Keep your eyes at the bottom left of the frame and you'll see two cars almost run into one another!
