There have been several versions from the Blandings Saga of PG Wodehouse. This, already on the basis of the first two episodes, is an absolute pig. A potentially funny cast try their hardest with a lame script which seems to have a laughter bypass. The general tone the director has attempted fails, the actors are barely coherent, muttering to each other as the scenes chop from 30 second take to 30 second take, assuming the audience have less power of concentration and understanding than the meanest piglet. The cartoon music and captioning attempt to add some level of humour but instead belong to kids TV of a former age. All it needs is for the characters to be slapping each other with leafy vegetables or falling into heaps of manure to confirm this as infantile slapstick that would be shunned by laziest of children's comedians. An absolute stinker!
